Gardener Richie's annual tulip show is now in bloom.

Be sure to stop by on your next neighborhood stroll!

Join Gardener Richie for some gardening fun at his last It's My Park Day this Saturday (April 26th) from 10:30am until noon!

Richie, who has been with NYC Parks for 26 years and at Washington Market Park for 11 years, will be retiring next week. He will be greatly missed. Please stop by and wish him well!

Trowels and children’s gardening gloves will be provided for the flower planting event. We also will have plastic gloves and garbage bags on-hand for adult volunteers who would like to help rid the park beds of microlitter. Join us and help beautify the park!

This spring we launched the Tribeca in Bloom Tulip Campaign, a community effort to fund park beautification and family-friendly events!

By sponsoring a tulip, you’re not only contributing to the park's ongoing care and seasonal events, but also celebrating NYC Parks Gardener Richie's incredible dedication to keeping the park beautiful for generations of neighbors and families.

Every donor will be recognized with a laminated tulip sign along the park fence starting at just $10 per tulip!

When donating, please be sure to include how you would like your name displayed on your the tulip sign in the park, e.g. The Smith Family or John Smith. Thank you!

RENOVATIONS COMING SOON

As we shared last fall, exciting upgrades are coming to Washington Market Park in 2025! Thanks to full funding from Council Member Christopher Marte, the NYC Parks Department will be repaving our park’s pathways. The new, safer asphalt paths will enhance accessibility and improve the overall appearance of the park.

While sections of the park will be temporarily closed for safety during these renovations, the tennis and basketball courts will remain open.

We will share project timing as soon as it is confirmed by NYC Parks!

See you in the park!
