The Message this Week
Preaching Text: Luke 10:25-42
Between stranger and neighbor. From Sanctified Art, Everything in between, words for worship (used with permission) ‘Church, if God asked you, ‘Who is your neighbor?’ what would you say? Would we say every child, every person, every weeping willow, and every morning lark? Every freckled face, every wrinkled pair of hands, every tail-wagging dog, and every crisp ripe apple? Would we say, we are connected-to one another, to all of God’s creation? There are no strangers in God’s house. We are all family here.‘
This week, we will navigate the space between stranger and neighbor, a line that may be more complex than we realized. What would it look like to see our interconnectedness to one another?
Holy and mighty God, thank you for giving us neighbors. There are days we couldn’t get through without them. Help us to be good neighbors to others. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

WONDERING...
Real questions from real people to learn more about faith.
Should I give something up for Lent?
| | |
|
Our Lenten theme, Everything in Between, comes from A Sanctified Art which is a is a collective of pastors and artists in ministry who create resources for worshiping communities. Art will be featured throughout Lent and Holy Week. Click HERE to view artists' statements and HERE to view the Lenten devotional. | |
- Open our eyes and hearts to love and serve our neighbors wherever we meet them on the way.
- Make us to stop and pay attention to the needs of our siblings in the natural world, and commit us to the care and healing of all that you have made.
- Help leaders to listen to those they serve, and give them wisdom to discern how best to meet the diverse needs of their constituents.
- Work through us on behalf of the sick, suffering, and oppressed, that all might receive the care they require to return them to wholeness.
- As we begin the journey of Lent, may we deepen our relationship with you and with one another. Shape our lives to reflect your love.
We entrust all these prayers and those of our hearts to you, O God. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.
