WKU celebrates the Class of 2024
From Topper Walk to the Big Red Bash, the WKU Spirit was on full display Thursday evening as WKU celebrated the Class of 2024.

Joined by faculty from each academic college, the 2024 graduates waved red towels and greeted family and friends as they made their way down the Hill into Houchens Industries-L.T. Smith Stadium for WKU’s 195th Commencement.

WKU conferred 3,112 degrees and certificates to spring and summer 2024 graduates -- 86 associate, 2,039 bachelor’s, 533 master’s, 55 doctoral and 15 specialist degrees, and 288 undergraduate certificates and 96 graduate certificates.

WKU also recognized top undergraduate and graduate students and commissioned 14 Hilltopper Army ROTC cadets as second lieutenants.

“Our rich and storied traditions make our Hill a special place,” President Timothy C. Caboni told graduates. “They bond us to the institution and bind us to one another, across generations, for a lifetime. They become a part of who we are as individuals and who we are as a community.”

On Friday, WKU’s five academic colleges -- Gordon Ford College of Business, Potter College of Arts & Letters, Ogden College of Science and Engineering, College of Education and Behavioral Sciences and College of Health and Human Services -- recognized their spring and summer 2024 graduating classes during ceremonies at Diddle Arena. Spotlight: Elijah Hopkins
There are few moments as profound and transformative as graduation. It marks the culmination of years of dedication, perseverance, and unwavering commitment to learning. Elijah Hopkins of Adairville is filled with a kaleidoscope of emotions — pride in his accomplishments, excitement for the adventures that lie ahead, and perhaps a hint of bittersweet nostalgia for the moments he left behind (namely, having his WKU and Honors experience begin in Fall 2020).
