- At approximately 5:00 PM today, April 3, 2020, South Carolina Governor Henry McMaster, by executive order, has suspended all new short term rentals to individuals from CDC-designated "hot spots".
- The order is effective immediately and applies to hotels, condos, vacation homes, motels, bed and breakfasts, resorts and all similar rentals. Click here to view the press conference.
South Carolina Governor Henry McMasters issues executive order regarding closure of non-essential business
- On Tuesday, South Carolina Governor Henry McMaster issued Executive Order 2020-17, requiring specific businesses, venues, facilities, services, and activities to close effective April 1. Businesses and residents with questions on what constitutes a non-essential business should contact the South Carolina Department of Commerce at covid19sc@sccommerce.com or 803-734-2873. South Carolina Governor Henry McMasters issues executive order regarding restrictions for Public Beaches & Waters Due to COVID-19 Pandemic
- On Monday, Governor McMaster issued an Executive Order closing (among other facilities) public access to our state’s beaches. The Order expressly states that it “does not impact the rights of private property owners living on beaches.”
- CSA has decided not to close the CSA managed private beach access points to the Sea Pines beaches, including the Tower Beach Parking lot.
- The Sea Pines Resort has closed the Beach Club parking lot and all facilities at the Beach Club and will not allow beach parking at the Plantation Club. The Resort will allow walkers or bikers to access the beach through the Beach Club walkway. For additional information on The Sea Pines Resort operations due to COVID-19, please visit their website by clicking here.
Tower Beach Update
- Currently, the Tower Beach Pavilion is closed however, the parking lot is open. It is the only parking available to those Sea Pines property owners who live a significant distance from the beach or for whom walking or biking is simply not an option. Given the limited parking available at Tower Beach, if you can bike or walk to the beach, please do so.
- Effective April 1, only allow one car per property owner may park at Tower Beach at any given time.
- We suggest that property owners limit time parked at Tower Beach to no more than two hours so that we can maximize the opportunity to access the beach for as many property owners as possible. Please be patient as we know there will be times when the lot will be full; exercising at “off hours” may provide an easier experience.
- Will continue to monitor the traffic on the boardwalks at Tower Beach and if necessary to assist with social distancing, we may implement one way in and a one way out on the boardwalk as a safety measurement.
- Additionally, to better assist those authorized to use the Tower Beach facilities and to encourage the requirement of social distancing, additional staff will be on site to oversee operational changes and safety recommendations.
