Revitalizing SW Alexander Street: A More Walkable Future

Alexander Street in Aloha is a vital connection for pedestrians and cyclists who rely on it as a safer alternative to Tualatin Valley Highway.

Washington County is hosting an open house to share the latest plans to improve this corridor and answer community questions about the upcoming project.

Join us to learn more about what’s ahead:

Alexander Street Open House

Date: Tuesday, November 3 | 5–7 pm

Location: Living Hope Fellowship, 3350 SW 182nd Ave

Planned improvements between 178th and 202nd Avenues include new sidewalks on both sides of Alexander Street, a mix of parallel parking and landscaped areas, and a new bike/pedestrian crossing signal at the 185th Avenue intersection

These enhancements are designed to create a safer, more welcoming corridor while supporting the community’s growing need for walkable, bike‑friendly infrastructure.

Neighborhood Meetings

Neighborhood Meeting Webpage Launches

Ever wondered what a Neighborhood Meeting is?

Or what it means when you receive a meeting notice in the mail?

Neighborhood Meetings are hosted by prospective developers before submitting certain types of development applications (Type II or Type III) to Washington County.

These meetings give neighbors an early look at a proposed project, including design concepts and potential project timelines. They’re also a chance for the community to ask questions and offer feedback before a formal application is submitted.

Land Use & Transportation has launched a Neighborhood Meetings webpage to make it easier for community members to understand what these meetings are, why they happen, and how to get involved.

These meetings serve as a forum for the developer, property owners within 500 feet in urban areas or 1,000 feet in rural areas, and any other interested parties, to discuss the proposal before an application is submitted to the County. County staff do not schedule these meetings nor attend them.
