Community Legal Aid gets grant

Community Legal Aid has received $75,000 from the Office of the Attorney General Andrea Joy Campbell to launch the Central & Western Mass. Eviction Sealing Project. As part of this effort, Community Legal Aid plans to hold at least 12 clinics throughout Franklin, Hampden, Hampshire, Berkshire and Worcester counties over the course of a year... “The impediments of having an eviction on your record are huge,” said Jennifer Dieringer, managing attorney of Community Legal Aid’s Northampton and Greenfield offices.

Elevating rural health experience and data

Too often, data on the experiences of rural residents are hidden or not collected. It is critical to uplift the unique priorities of rural communities to make sure programs, policies, and funding are responsive to rural needs. Community organizations and state agencies in Massachusetts are working to advance equity for rural communities, and CHEI data can be a powerful tool! In this webinar, you’ll learn from state and community rural health advocates about how they are using CHEI and other data to advance rural health.

What's in the MA FY 2027 budget?

The Massachusetts budget process is officially in its next phase. On April 15th, the House Ways and Means Committee proposed a $63 billion budget that mirrors many of Governor Healey’s goals, specifically by bracing for economic shifts while putting $2.7 billion in Fair Share surtax revenue to work. Understanding state spending can be daunting, so MassBudget has condensed the most important points into a short, high-value document for you. They are also looking ahead to late April/early May, when MassBudget will release a comprehensive analysis following the House of Representatives' final vote.

Complete this NRC survey by April 30th

It is survey time again and the Northampton Recovery Center needs your support. Your experiences with the Northampton Recovery Center (NRC) matter & they want to hear from you. If you’ve connected with the NRC, as a peer participant, family member, community partner, ally, volunteer, or community member-at-large, they invite you to share your voice in the annual Bureau of Substance Addiction Services (BSAS) survey. BSAS is NRC's primary funder, and they utilize these surveys to see how well NRC is serving our community.

The survey is simple and straight forward, anonymous and confidential, and only takes 10-15 minutes.
