When Bizzy first arrived at North Star Camp in 2023, he was excited for summer – but he couldn’t have imagined everything he would discover.
He discovered a love of fishing. He discovered the strategy of chess. He discovered the excitement of capture the flag. He even discovered a fascination with the World Lumberjack Championships. (If you know, you know!)
Perhaps most importantly, he discovered something that’s becoming increasingly rare: the joy of unplugging.
Away from screens and surrounded by the outdoors, Bizzy embraced camp life with enthusiasm. By the end of his first summer, he returned home feeling healthier, more active, and eager to spend even more time outside.
But the memories didn’t end when camp did – the friendships he built continued long after the buses headed home. He’s returned to camp every summer since to create more!
Through monthly Zoom calls, Bizzy and many of his fellow campers stay connected throughout the year – proof that CFAK’s model of renewable camperships ensures that the relationships formed at camp last well beyond a single summer.
So much so that this year Bizzy is back this summer for the full eight-week session.
