Quick note of apology: this was set to arrive to our families on Sunday afternoon; we just realized that did not happen. Here is your lower school news for the week!
Warm greetings, Lower School Families,
What a joy it is to begin with a heartfelt thank you! Because of your extraordinary generosity, our Griffin community donated $53,770 during this year’s Big Give! We are deeply grateful for the many families who chose to invest in the life and mission of our school.
Your generosity moves us closer to our combined Great Hearts Northern Oaks Academy Community Investment goal of $515,000 for this school year. These gifts help bridge the gap between state charter school funding and the true cost of providing the rich, classical education we desire for our students. Thank you for partnering with us so generously and for the many ways you support our Griffin community.
A Little Homecoming Fun for Lower School!
This Friday, our Upper School will celebrate Homecoming, and we are delighted to join in the Griffin spirit with a little Lower School fun of our own! Students are invited to participate in our Griffin Coloring Contest and wear their Griffin spirit shirts on Friday. And for those who really want to get into the Homecoming spirit, students may wear mini mums on Friday! You can read more about the festivities here.
Academic Advisory Council Update
Last week, our Northern Oaks Academic Advisory Council held its first meeting of the school year. Many thanks to AAC member Mrs. Brittany Sciarillo for preparing a helpful summary of the meeting. You can read the Q1 AAC Meeting Summary here.
Thank you, as always, for your partnership, generosity, and Griffin spirit. It is a gift to share in the work of educating these wonderful students alongside you.
Warmly,
|
