REPORT YOUR STEPS SOON!

Week 4 of Miles for Wellness Challenge 32 ends Sunday, October 19. This means your second check-in is soon. Please remind your team members to send their tracking sheets to you on Monday, October 20.

Once you have received your team's step counts, update your captain's spreadsheet and complete the bi-weekly reporting form. The deadline to complete the form is Wednesday, October 22.

REPORTING ACCURATE STEPS

Please be sure your team members are accurately reporting their steps. If you are using a smartwatch, pedometer, or step-counting app while taking part in physical activities, you should not use the conversion function in the participant tracking sheet to report those steps. They are already accounted for in the number of steps your watch or pedometer reports.

Watch the participants guide video for more help on recording your steps and filling out the participant tracking sheet.

COMPLETING THE CHECK-IN FORM

Below are some helpful tips for completing the bi-weekly submission form:

  • If you cannot find your team name listed on the form, you can type it.
  • The step total you need to report can be found on your captain's spreadsheet in the blue box in the top right corner.
  • Do not use commas or decimals in your step count.
  • Do not upload your participant sheets. Please transfer all information to your captain's sheet and upload it when completing the bi-weekly check-in form.

Help your team members meet their goals with these motivating materials.

MOVE MORE IN YOUR WORKDAY

Captains reported numerous ways their teams are getting creative to get more steps each day. The American Heart Association offers great ideas to increase activity while at work.

 FOCUS ON SELF-IMPROVEMENT

Can your team outwalk itself? No matter where you are in the rankings, a great way to stay motivated is by challenging your team to walk more than they did the previous week. Refer to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's recommendations for overcoming barriers to physical activity when you or a teammate struggles to increase their step count.

HOW DO YOU STAY MOTIVATED?

What keeps you and your team moving? Whether it's a motivating mantra, a pump-you-up playlist, or a workout you're obsessed with, we want to hear from you and your team. Tell us in the comments when you submit your bi-weekly reporting form. Share your team's wins, what works when you want to quit, or anything else that moves you.

BI-WEEKLY REPORTING FORM

Submit your team's steps for each check-in and the final deadline using the bi-weekly reporting form.

  • Weeks 1-4: Monday, October 20-Wednesday, October 22
  • Weeks 1-6: Monday, November 3-Wednesday, November 5
