DEMONSTRATIONS OF SERVICE

Each week we focus on one of our seven community values. This morning we celebrated our community value of SERVICE.

Laura shared: that she finds it easy to offer and be of SERVICE because she always gets a return. The she invited community members to join the Welcome Team at the Center.

Rev. Jenna shared: that it's been her joy to be in SERVICE to a West Coast group that developed something called the "Catalyst Meditation" assisting them with their website which is now launching.

Marijane shared: that she has become aware that she can be of SERVICE without even thinking about being of SERVICE because there are multiple opportunities everyday as we interact with one another and I've become more aware of all of the many blessing I receive.

Dale shared: that she is getting to be of SERVICE by caring for someone's dog and that while walking this dog she got to be of SERVICE be engaging in friendly conversation with a dog walker that was stressed over current events.

Rev. Frank shared: that he got to be of SERVICE caring for his husband after a work accident and through friendly interaction with the produce clerk at the grocery store.

Gerise shared: that she is getting to be of SERVICE by networking and supporting other white women to become aware of and heal their unconscious racism through multiple avenues of SERVICE.

Spirit revealed the new name of Itself as our spiritual community

"Center for Spiritual Living Common Ground".

NEXT STEPS:

Now that our new name is revealed, there's a few steps we have to take BEFORE putting it to use, legally.

STEP 1: We will file the necessary paperwork with Centers for Spiritual Living (CSL) on Tuesday.

DONE & APPROVED

STEP 2: Following CSL approval we will apply to the State of Maryland for a new Doing Business As (DBA) name, secure a new website domain name, begin making the necessary changes in our Google Account.

Domain names cslcommonground.com and cslcommonground.org PURCHASED

Rev. Rafe will coordinate with our tech wizard, Don Henderson to transition our emails to the new domain names.

STEP 3: Following issuance of our new DBA, initiate banking changes... at this point we will change how checks are written to the Center... WE WILL LET YOU KNOW!!

Checks still need to be made payable to Columbia CSL or CCSL.

Rev. Rafe is working with PNC Bank to be able to accept checks in our new name...

STEP 4: Update ALL remaining business accounts.

A Nominating Committee has been formed as required by our bylaws. This committee consists of Rev. Rafe - Chair, Robin Farinholt - Trustee, and Dr. Phil Eldred - Laity Member and is charged with vetting all CSL Common Ground Board of Trustee applicants.

You are invited to take the idea of serving Center for Spiritual Living Common Ground as a member of the Board of Trustees into your prayer work, listening deeply for spiritual clarity and guidance. IF that clarity and guidance leads you to apply:

LICENSED PRACTITIONER GROWTH COHORT

As a minister, I am committed to supporting the upliftment, growth and empowerment of Licensed Practitioners. To this end, I am called to offer a Licensed Practitioner Growth Cohort Experience in 2026.

A cohort model is a collaborative approach where a group of individuals, known as a cohort, progress through a program together at the same pace, fostering a strong sense of community and support. This model is based on the principle that experience is improved in a social context. It builds community, provides social and emotional support, and encourages collaboration among peers.

Together, we will journey through the Practitioner Handbook, written by Rev. Dr. Mary Mitchell sharing our experience of the literature, awakenings that are sparked, and support one another in taking action to turn these sparks into fires that burn brightly in the world as each participant.

Beyond a how-to-book, The Practitioner Handbook offers invaluable insights into the mystical and practical aspects of practicing Consciousness in today's world. It will, in its own right, become a treasured resource to every person who seeks to deepen and empower their application of Spiritual Mind Treatment.
