Great New Partners!

The last 30 days have brought a lot of new people into our lives. And we are so grateful for the opportunity to minister alongside each of them.

Iglesia La Gracia is a church we have known for a while, and Steve even preached there many years ago when they had a different pastor. But we never had a chance to serve them until now. It was a blessing to host their leader training, and to get to make many new friends.

Then our old friends from Matrix Ministries joined us as we traveled south to the coastal town of Parrita to serve at Iglesia Monte de Dios Vasconia, with Pastor Nelson and his amazing people.

The church is located in a remote area and surrounded by palms that are used to harvest palm oil. The community is poor, but full of faith. With financial help from Matrix, we were able to pour a new concrete floor for the church and install an electrical system.

We expect to return in the coming years to continue to invest in their ministry.

Finally, we had a chance to do some networking. Our daughter introduced us to Dr. Timothy Yonts, a professor at Liberty University, who was in our area on a mission trip at Horizon Church in Jaco. Dr. Yonts has a great heart for Latin America, and we expect to be seeing more of him in the future.

We Could Use Some Help

The Lord has been so good to us this month with many opportunities, and yet we have had a few challenges as well. So if you feel led to respond to any of these needs with a donation, it would be much appreciated.

We thought we were done with Iglesia Biblica Fuentes de Amor in San Mateo, but there is one more thing to do. Pastor Juan Carlos asked if we could help install a drop ceiling. Everyone who has been here can testify that the heat coming off the metal roofs can be pretty bad. A drop ceiling adds a buffer that will make a tremendous difference.

Matrix Ministries offered to match our efforts. So we just need to raise $700 to get this done.

Finally, as our 2014 ministry van continues to age, it needs some investment as well. A bad tachometer, non-locking doors, and a never-ending supply of brakes and clutches. (We live in some crazy mountains!)
