G reetings from Avoca, New York, where we are looking forward to the culmination of our October auctions on Tuesday and Wednesday of this week at 7:01 PM Eastern Time each day. We will have 501 Lots ending on October 6th and another 401 Lots ending on October 7th. Follow the links below to view the items in the auction.

Today's Photo Montage shows some of the many great tools that will be sold on October 7th.

If you are not currently registered to bid in our auctions, you can register to bid by clicking HERE.

We have the First Tuesday and First Wednesday Auctions for October fully loaded and bidding is now underway. You can view the auction and enter bids beginning now and continuing until October 6, 2026 & October 7, 2026. On the last day of the sale, two lots will close and be marked as sold each minute beginning at 7:01 P.M. on each ending day and continuing until all are sold. Bidding will be open on both auctions until bidding closes as the lots begin selling at 7:01 PM on each night of the sale. You can keep bidding until the item is marked as sold. In the event that there is an increase in the bid in the last two minutes before an items sells, it will be extended for two minutes, unless the high bid amount increases again, at which point it will extend for another two minutes.

Today's Featured Tool Description
Bailey, L./Boston, Mass. : Rare Split Frame Metallic Plane. Pat. Aug. 7, 1855. Early And Ecxellent. Length: 13.50 Inches. A rare SPLIT FRAME JACK PLANE by Leonard Bailey, Boston, Massachusetts. patented August 7, 1855. One of the consequences of the pioneering status of these brittle cast iron planes was that their design flaws were many. Tightening the adjustment screws or, perhaps more likely, dropping the plane on a hard floor would, and often did, cause major damage. This superb example has escaped any damage and shows only minor signs of use. It is fitted with magnificently grained rosewood handles and retains much of its original japan finish, noting that the sides of the plane may have been had black paint added by a later owner. Complete in all respects and crisp and clean throughout, this historically and technologically important bench plane is one of the best example of the split frame type that we have ever been privileged to offer for sale. Just Added to the Auctions
jpg_file Lot 378. An ORIGINAL PATENT MODEL FOR A FELLING AXE HEAD as produced by Ernest Quast of Freedom, Missouri. This model shows a wooden axe head constructed of individual pieces in the same manner specified in the U.S. Patent issued to Quast on November 16, 1869. The side of the axe head, which is shown on a later type display stand, is marked with the designation, "E. Quest/Patent/ November 16, 1869". The original Patent Office tags are not included, and it is possible that this was produced as a model to show the features of the axe, but in either case, this is an extremely rare, and likely unique, inventor's personal model of a patented axe.
