“Lord, Make Me An Instrument of Your Peace"

October 26, 2026

From the Desk of Mrs. Renee Gallagher, Principal

SAL Parents:

Pep Rally

On Friday, we celebrated our SAL athletes with an all-school pep rally! Both our 7th/8th-grade girls’ and boys’ volleyball teams earned invitations to the Seton tournament, and four of our boys qualified for the state cross-country race held this past Wednesday.

During the pep rally, our Poms students cheered as each athlete was introduced, and a short volleyball scrimmage showcased the teamwork our teams have developed throughout the season. We are proud of all our SAL athletes and the way they represent our school in their end-of-season competitions!

Please join me in a short prayer for our volleyball players:

Heavenly Father,

Thank You for our volleyball teams and the gifts You have given each of our athletes. Keep our players safe from injury, unite their hearts as teammates, and give them the strength and determination to do their best. Help them demonstrate good sportsmanship, encourage one another through every point, and treat their opponents with kindness and respect. May they use their talents to glorify You in all that they do.

Amen.

Dress Up at SAL!

We will continue the tradition of dressing up for Halloween at SAL on Friday, October 30! All students may be out of uniform. K3–K5 students may wear costumes to school for their morning parade and party. Please have them wear approved out-of-uniform clothing underneath for an easy change. Students in grades 1–8 will change into costumes after lunch for their afternoon parade and parties.

Please keep these costume guidelines in mind:

  • Choose school-appropriate costumes that will not frighten our younger students.
  • Masks that completely cover the face and other costume accessories may be worn during the parade only.
  • Costumes may not include any depiction of a weapon.

Costume Parades - Friday October 30

K3–K5: 11:00 a.m. Parents are welcome to line the lobby outside the classrooms to see the parade begin! Students will travel through the hallways, classrooms, and parish office. The parade will last approximately 15 minutes.

Grades 1–8: 1:00 p.m. Students will parade through the hallways, exit the building, and pass by parents gathered on the school playground. Come ready to cheer them on!

We look forward to a fun-filled Halloween at SAL!

With faith and gratitude,

Principal Renee Gallagher

STUDENT GOVERNMENT

Congratulations to our 2026-27 Student Government Officers who were elected recently. They include the following students:

President: Cole Walsh, Vice President: Nora Rankel, Secretary: Sarah Brzeski, and Promotions Directors: Payton Connor and Hadleigh Wolf.

Pop Tabs for Ronald McDonald House

Our school will collect pop tabs for Ronald McDonald House again this year. Students can begin to bring pop tabs from soda, soup cans, and even pet food cans. Place the pop tabs into the mason jars provided in each classroom. Last year we collected over 57 pounds of pop tabs!

These pop tabs will be recycled by the Ronald McDonald House. Since 2000, recycling pop tabs has generated over $400,000 for our Ronald McDonald House. Thanks for participating!

House of Peace Holiday Food Box Drive

In November, St. Anthony on the Lake School will work with our parish on a project called the House of Peace Holiday Food Box Drive to provide a holiday meal to families who are unable to afford the fixings for a traditional Thanksgiving or Christmas dinner. Each student will bring two food items selected from a list of specific items so that classes can fill holiday food boxes for the House of Peace.

A slip will be sent home Friday with each student that indicates the specific items that are needed. Food items can be sent to school with students beginning on Monday, November 2 through Friday, November 13, when the boxes will be packed.

Thank you for your support of this outreach project sponsored by our student government.

Scrip

Scrip is one of the easiest ways to raise money for St. Anthony on the Lake AND is a key part of our fundraising activities. (See this great instructional video for information on Scrip and how to get started with your orders.) Money raised from SCRIP has been used to help support the purchase of curricular resources, for tuition assistance, and classroom supplies.

So how does SCRIP work? You buy either a physical gift card or e-gift card at face value. For each purchase, both you and St. Anthony earns money back. Earnings vary based on the rebate percentage offered by that merchant but range from 1.25% to 22%. Of the rebate earned, 50% goes back to the school and the other 50% is distributed at your discretion to one of the following:

· Credited to your family’s (or another family’s) tuition in the following academic year

· Donated to St. Anthony’s on the Lake School

· Donated to St. Anthony’s on the Lake Choir

· Paid to you as a cash rebate (2025-2026 rebate was paid out in July 2026)

Last year, some individuals earned over $300 in tuition credits and received over $400 in cash rebates!

The easiest way to purchase SCRIP is via the RaiseRight App. The RaiseRight App offers instant e-gift cards from over 1000+ merchants. You can purchase e-giftcards oftentimes in $5 increments while checking out at a store and use it instantly. For a list of merchants available through the app, visit https://www.raiseright.com/brands.

You may also purchase physical gift cards either through the app or using the Scrip To Go Order Form. The gift cards can be sent home with your child at school or picked up in the office.

Reach out to scrip@stanthony.cc for further questions.
