Our Mission: To Know Jesus Christ and Make Him Known

From the Desk of the Rector…

Deuteronomy is believed to have been written circa 1406 BC (Before Christ) and scholars largely attribute Moses to have been the author.

The word Deuteronomy is translated to mean “a second law” or “copy of the Law.” This copy of the Law was intended to be the central foundation of laws which would govern matters of worship, administration of justice, and family life.

Moses’ final act before his death in Deuteronomy would be for God to show him the promised land. Sadly, Moses would not be the prophet that would lead the Israelites into this vast land. No, it would eventually be Joshua who through military conquest would claim the Land of Canaan for the Israelites.

Although Moses would not reach this new land, God reassured Moses of the promises made to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob – that this land would be theirs. Genesis 15:18 and Joshua 1:3-4 both outline the boundaries of the land from the wilderness to Lebanon and from the great river in Egypt to the river Euphrates. Yet, the current home of Israel sits upon far less than that which was promised.

Unfortunately, there has been much bloodshed over the past three thousand years because of these promises made to the Jewish descendants of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.  Amazingly, the Jews still adhere to and believe in the promises made to their forefathers. Similarly, we, too, believe in the promises made by Jesus to His followers before He ascended into heaven that “He was going to prepare a place for us” and that He would eventually return.

As believers, we confirm through our discipleship that the Triune God’s promises are credible and are to be trusted, today, just as Moses did some three thousand years ago.

Ordinary Time Blessings,

Fr. Reginald

Let’s work together to make a difference!

Thank you for being part of this wonderful ministry!

Backpacks of Love is Back!

The donation bin is in the Narthex for the new school season, and we will have our next collection THIS SUNDAY:

Sunday, November 8th, 2026.

Homelessness and poverty have become much more visible and prevalent problems in suburban areas like northern Metro Atlanta. Backpacks of Love serves homeless and food-insecure children at fifteen schools (elementary, middle, and high) in Forsyth and North Fulton counties.

In the 2025-2026 school year, Backpacks of Love delivered a total of 3,639 backpacks of food.

Backpacks of Love operates entirely through the stewardship of its sponsors and volunteer labor. They have no paid staff. They partner with five churches (Alpharetta Methodist Church, Episcopal Church of the Holy Spirit, Johns Creek Baptist Church, St. Aidan’s Episcopal Church, and

Zion Missionary Baptist Church), who make food and monetary donations to the program.

In the past school year, 30+ volunteers provided the

“hands and feet on the ground” to make this program run.

Backpacks of Love started at St. Aidan’s in 2011.

How You Can Help:

• We always need more food donations!

▪ Protein: Tuna, chicken, Vienna sausage, small 16 oz. plastic jars

of peanut butter

▪ Fruit: mandarin oranges, fruit cocktail, peaches (cans only please; the small plastic containers leak)

▪ Vegetables: Corn, carrots, mixed veggies

▪ Microwaveable items: single-serve dinners, soup, chili, mac and cheese cups (no boxes or packets that require pots/extra ingredients please)

▪ Pasta: Canned pasta with sauce, ramen noodles

▪ Breakfast/Snacks: Protein or granola bars, single-serve cereal boxes, pop tarts, individual packs of crackers, oatmeal packets, individual boxes of juice or shelf-stable milk.

• Tax deductible monetary contributions:

You can write a check to St. Aidan's and designate Backpacks of Love in the memo section, place cash in a cash offering envelope and indicate "Backpacks of Love" on the front of the envelope or donate on Realm and designate "Backpacks".
