Dear Parents of MacLaren Fifth-Grade Students,
Come learn more about our middle school program and the transition between Lower School and Upper School:
When: Thursday, November 5, from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
Where: The Commons
Who: Current fifth-grade students and their parents and guardians
Note: Any student who attends the event should be in uniform.
Mr. Pingel, Assistant Head of School and Student Life, will facilitate the event. We will also have a panel of current middle school students who can share what it is like to attend middle school at MacLaren.
We will cover a wealth of topics, including:
-
Curriculum and courses: An overview of the middle school curriculum, including orchestra, Latin, and public performance courses, as well as the full sequence of the Upper School curriculum.
-
Community and student life: Details about the MacLaren community, social, and athletic events for middle school students.
-
School culture: Components of our strong culture that help foster rich friendships and a healthy environment.
-
Transition support: Support systems to help students transition to middle school.
We know school nights are busy, so we will be waiving homework for fifth-grade students on that day. There will also be a raffle for MacLaren spirit wear for students who attend.
We look forward to seeing you there!
All the best,
Benjamin LaBadie
Head of Upper School
