64TEN Announces Closing of Retail Storefront After 25+ Years, Introduces New Chapter for the Brand

Chicago, IL — After more than 25 years as a staple in Chicago’s leather and alternative community, 64TEN has announced it will be closing the doors of its physical retail storefront while preparing for an exciting evolution of the brand.

For decades, 64TEN has been more than a store — it has served as a gathering place, creative hub, and community landmark where friendships were formed, stories were shared, and countless unforgettable moments took place.

“Chicago, thank you,” said the Eric Kugelman one of the owners' of 64TEN. “Thank you for showing up, celebrating with us, supporting us, and making 64TEN more than just a store — you made it a community. From late nights to unforgettable moments, every visit meant something. As we begin our countdown to evolution, we close this chapter with full hearts and deep gratitude.”

While the storefront chapter is coming to an end, the brand itself is far from finished. 64TEN will continue its presence through pop-up events, trade shows, local delivery within 10 miles, and shipping, with a new website launching in Spring 2026 to support its next phase.

Eric also expressed deep appreciation for the artists and staff who helped define the store over the years. “We at 64TEN wish everyone success in their blossoming leather careers. If we can provide any guidance or share potential leads, it would be our pleasure to help encourage the next generation of leather artists and creators.”

To celebrate the legacy of the store and the community that built it, 64TEN will host a special farewell event:

Guests are invited to stop by, share memories, reconnect with friends, and celebrate the impact 64TEN has had on the community over the past quarter century.

Attire is encouraged but not required — dress up, dress down, leather, masks, gear, or your favorite piece of 64TEN wear. The goal is simple: show up, celebrate, and help send this era off in style.

Community members are also encouraged to share their favorite 64TEN memories, moments, and stories — either in person at the event or online — as the brand prepares to rise into its next concept.

“While 64TEN as you know it is coming to a close, this is not the end,” the team shared. “It’s a transformation. Stay tuned as we reimagine, rebuild, and rise into our next concept. The best is yet to come.”
