Catholic Charities joined IMPACT Connect last November. We invited Carey Jacobsen, Senior Program Director, to provide insight into the organization's role as an IMPACT Connect partner.
Why did you decide to join IMPACT Connect?
Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Milwaukee serves ten counties in Southeastern Wisconsin, and we are committed to collaborating with other providers to best support individuals and families. Joining IMPACT Connect allowed us to promote our programs directly to the community partners that are in a position to make referrals.
What has been your experience so far?
Although we just officially joined a couple months ago and are only accepting referrals at this time, we have already benefited from increased awareness of our range of services and locations. In fact, we have received multiple referrals for our mental health and case management services. Our team at Catholic Charities appreciates that the process of receiving a referral is quick and easy, and clients have acknowledged the level of responsiveness.
What efficiencies are you hoping to achieve with IMPACT Connect?
Our focus has been on removing barriers for those seeking services, IMPACT Connect allows us to accept a referral and immediately reach out to the individual. That has helped to significantly reduce the wait time for support. In our experience, referrals generated through IMPACT Connect are thorough and include necessary information to determine best treatment or support options for the client, allow for prioritization, and assure a good fit with providers.
Has using the IMPACT Connect referral platform resulted in a successful client outcome that you'd like to share?
Prior to being referred to Catholic Charities, the individual struggled to find a mental health provider due to insurance limitations. Once we received a referral to assist her, we scheduled an initial assessment with our mental health therapist for the following day, and the client started on-going therapy immediately.
