We're excited to share some upcoming events at Nonprofit Staten Island and our members!

Here are the latest opportunities to strengthen and connect with the community.

Did you know?

Because public policy values service on not-for-profit corporation Boards, New York and federal law offers volunteer members of these Boards special protections. If a director is paid for their Board service, even as a small stipend or honorarium, these protections may be lost.

Find this and other practical information in the new edition of Lawyers Alliance’s Bylaws That Work. This manual helps not-for-profit corporations operating in New York and their attorneys prepare new or revised bylaws.

Now in its third edition, Bylaws That Work has been expanded to include bylaws information for organizations incorporated under New York or Delaware law, as well as best practices for Boards operating in-person or virtually. It also includes questionnaires and sample documents.

Bylaws That Work is available for purchase as a bound printed copy ($100) and as both an Individual Use ($100) and Site License ($200) PDF download. The electronic versions include linked table of contents and websites.

Please visit Lawyers Alliance’s website for more information or to order.

The Staten Island Foundation is currently hiring for Office Manager/Bookkeeper position.

The Foundation is looking for an experienced office manager who will enjoy a flexible, part-time schedule. We are – of course – a delightful organization to work for. We need someone steady and reliable to keep the office operating smoothly while other team members focus on the programmatic work. We don’t need someone with foundation or even nonprofit experience but it would be nice to find someone who is interested in our work.

The Staten Island Community Partnership is currently looking for a dedicated Administrative Assistant/Community Ambassador to join their team.

The role of the Administrative Assistant/Community Ambassador is someone who has passion for the community and is willing to engage with community members and other organizations. All applicants must be able to pass a background check and a physical exam.
