Dear Cheboygan Friends and Neighbors,
As the days grow longer and the lilacs begin to bloom, Cheboygan comes alive with the traditions that make our hometown so special. This week, as we prepare for Memorial Day and celebrate the Class of 2025, we’re reminded of what truly makes our community shine—our people, our pride, and our shared sense of place.
If you’ve driven through town recently, you’ve likely seen the Hometown Hero flags now gracing our streets. Each banner honors a veteran from our area, reminding us of the courage, sacrifice, and service that form the foundation of our freedom. These flags are a moving tribute to those who served—and a perfect way to begin our Memorial Day reflections.
Before the weekend’s picnics and parades, we have a special reason to gather and cheer: Join us this Friday at 5:00 PM on Main Street for the Senior Parade, celebrating the incredible Class of 2025! Let’s come together to send off these students with hometown pride as they move forward into their next chapters.
While you’re downtown for the festivities, be sure to shop local and support the small businesses that are the heartbeat of our community. The Farmers Market opens Saturday in Festival Square, bringing fresh produce, homemade goods, and familiar faces. Stroll through the Craft Show in Washington Park, happening both Saturday and Sunday, for unique finds and handmade treasures.
And of course, no trip downtown is complete without a cozy stop for your favorite brew. While you’re there, pop into our local shops, grab a bite to eat, and stick around for refreshments and live music—a perfect way to celebrate the season and the spirit of Cheboygan.
This weekend, grab a Cheboygan Today from our box in front of the Chamber building—a moment, a memory, a smile—and share it with those around you.
With hometown pride,
