The ReMA PSI Chapter kicked off its activities at this year’s Paper and Plastics Recycling Conference (PPRC) in Chicago with a well-attended reception for PSI members and potential new members. The gathering—held Oct. 22 in the posh Living Room space of the Hyatt Regency Chicago—gave attendees a fun social start to the PPRC event. During the reception, PSI Chapter President Tamara Mayberry of Pioneer Industries International addressed the crowd and thanked everyone for attending. She announced that PSI just launched a fundraising drive for its 2025 scholarship program, noting that PSI awarded $50,000 in scholarships this year. “It was our most successful year ever, and we’re hoping to do the same next year,” she said. Mayberry also encouraged the audience to attend the PSI-sponsored panel session titled “High Hopes for High Grades?” on Thursday, Oct. 24, from 10:30 a.m. to noon during the PPRC event. Preceding that session, she said, PSI will recognize Joel Litman of Texas Recycling Inc. with the PSI Lifetime Achievement Award in memory of Phil Alpert.
