What Residents Need to Know About their Water Service

This temporary interruption is necessary to safely connect the new water main to the existing water distribution system. Residents are encouraged to prepare in advance by storing an adequate supply of water for drinking, cooking, hygiene and other essential household needs before the scheduled interruption.

Once service has been restored, you may notice temporary discoloration, cloudy water or air in your plumbing lines. These conditions are normal and should be resolved by running the cold water from a faucet for several minutes until the water runs clear.

Possible Precautionary Boil Water Notice

While every effort will be made to complete this work without incident, there is a possibility that a Precautionary Boil Water Notice may be issued for affected properties following the scheduled water service interruption. The issuance of a boil water notice is a standard public health precaution whenever the water distribution system experiences a loss of pressure or is temporarily shut down.

If a Precautionary Boil Water Notice becomes necessary, affected residents will be notified promptly and provided with instructions regarding the advisory and when it has been lifted.
