Good Afternoon Friends & Ministry Partners,
After Thanksgiving Thursday comes the notorious Black Friday, followed by Cyber Monday. But, there's a relatively new "holiday" that I am grateful for called Giving Tuesday, and that's today!
The idea is to support a charity or cause that you believe in, using the money you "saved" on all the great shopping deals.
Here's what I've noticed, on Thanksgiving, we tend to overeat. On Black Friday and Cyber Monday, we tend to spend too much. Do you think it's possible on Giving Tuesday to give too much?
In comparison, the blessings that God has given us, like forgiveness, salvation, and eternal life, to name a few, there's nothing we could give that is even close to what God has done for us.
Giving Tuesday is an excellent day to check our priorities and humble our hearts before the Lord in the area of finances and giving.
So, on this Giving Tuesday, I encourage you with the words of Jesus in Luke 6:38: "Give, and it will be given to you: good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over will be put into your bosom. For with the same measure that you use, it will be measured back to you."
If you'd like to give back to the Lord on this Giving Tuesday, I can't think of a better way than by supporting the work He's doing through Eagle Ridge Church.
Will you give a donation of $20 or more today?
Just as with your past donations, your gift today will be used to advance the Gospel and encourage God's people through the teaching of His Word.
May God bless you richly!
In Christ,
Pastor Steve
