New: Cedar Rapids Metro Task Force Update
Over the course of the last year, a committee of 19 individuals throughout the Cedar Rapids metro Catholic communities, also known as the Cedar Rapids metro task force committee, have spent an extensive amount of time understanding the current educational processes, governance structures, and practices within our metro area Catholic schools and parishes. This was in an effort to enter into discussion and dialogue about the vision of the future for the Cedar Rapids metro Catholic schools and ensuring that in the next five to twenty-five years these schools have positioned themselves to be successful, while continuing to fulfill the mission of the Catholic Church.
The work of the Cedar Rapids metro task force was extensive and has all been shared on the Xavier Catholic Schools webpage (www.crxaviercatholicschools.org/cr-metro-task-force) for your further review. When accessing, please click the CR Metro Task Force link at the very top of the page, here you will see the final report, summary report, and separate links for each data component reviewed.
YOUR INPUT IS NEEDED!

As a faith community, we are seeking your input on this important decision. We ask that you take some time to review the materials on the Xavier Catholic Schools webpage. After which, please complete the survey included here by September 1, 2023.

The next steps for this work is for the school board to engage in dialogue and discern the information presented by the Cedar Rapids metro task force. This can include results of the community-wide survey and local community meetings if the board desires. Following this discernment process, a motion will be taken at a board meeting this fall with the results of the motion used to provide a recommendation to Father Flaherty, Father Richmond, Father Glaser, Father March, Father Miller, Father Conway, Father Mayer, Father Loecke, Father Seda and Father O’Connor by mid to late October. Specific details as to the review and approval process can be found on page 15 of the report discussed above.

We appreciate your engagement in this conversation as we look to ensure the viability of our parishes and schools in the years to come. We also encourage you to invite the Holy Spirit into your discernment of this recommendation.

Reminder: Important Information from the Business Office
This is a reminder that at this time all families (with the exception of those waiting on the second round of STO) should have signed their tuition contract for the 2023/24 school year. If you have taken care of this thank you for doing so.

If you selected the 10 EFT payments make sure you fill out the form completely (every box) and hit the submit button. All EFT payments must be set up by July 28th to make the August 10th first payment.

All tuition contracts must be signed before being permitted to pick up iPads for the fall semester.

For all families that have completed the tuition contract, billing has been posted to each account.

If you are waiting on the second round STO, we are hoping to have new contracts out to those receiving funds by the end of this week. At that time you will be notified that a new contract is ready to be signed.

Reminder: New for 2023-2024 - All Students Participating in XHS Activities Must Be Registered on Bound
If your student is interested in participating in any extracurricular activities (FINE ARTS, ATHLETICS OR CLUBS), parents must register each student via Bound.

ALL STUDENTS planning to participate in activities must be registered on Bound. This includes fine arts, athletics and clubs.

If your student is considering participating in athletics or cheer, parents must also upload a Physical, Concussion and Permission/Release Form via Bound. These forms will now be uploaded through this process – paper forms will not be accepted in the XHS Activities Office moving forward. You will not need to print a form elsewhere.

If you can not locate a current physical (and it’s currently on file with Xavier HS), please contact the XHS Activities Office via email at pam.barta@xaviersaints.org.
