Every Night Matters

Your Support Helps PAQ Provide Shelter

This holiday season help PAQ raise $30,000 to meet growing emergency shelter needs

In 2023, homelessness in Montreal rose by an alarming 33%, with Indigenous peoples more than five times more likely to be overrepresented in these numbers. For too many, homelessness means being cut off from safety, stability, and the support

needed to rebuild their lives.

In 2023-2024, PAQ provided:

  • 34,368 nights of shelter to individuals in crisis
  • A warm bed, hot meals, and access to essential services like showers and laundry facilities
  • A place of care and stability, with an average of 3-5 months stays to connect with resources and begin healing

Every night at PAQ offers a critical lifeline to someone facing the harsh realities of systemic inequities, displacement, and trauma. For Indigenous community members, a night at PAQ is often the first step toward reclaiming safety, dignity, and belonging.

But the need is growing, and we need your help to meet it.

This holiday season help PAQ raise $30,000 to meet growing emergency shelter needs.

Stories of Hope and Resilience

Read how PAQ transforms lives through Emergency Shelter Services

"PAQ’s emergency shelter services provide a safe, culturally relevant space for Indigenous people, meeting immediate needs while honoring their identity. With a foundation of respect and dignity, we create a non-judgmental, welcoming environment where individuals feel accepted and valued, whether they are sober, in crisis, or simply seeking a meal. Serving as an entry point to essential services like shelter, food, and support, PAQ addresses housing gaps, the trauma of colonization, and saves lives in times of crisis. Ultimately, PAQ offers more than shelter—it’s a transformative space where individuals are supported on their healing journey,” Natalie Julien, Interventions and Services Manager, PAQ.
