Stewardship 2027
Our 2027 stewardship theme, “Marks of a Methodist: The Fruit of a Living Faith,” invites us to grow in five daily practices: loving God, rejoicing in God, giving thanks, praying constantly, and loving others.
We see this faith bearing fruit throughout our church. New staff are bringing fresh energy to our ministries, a record 28 children have signed up for our Advent play, and our youth are preparing for their first fall retreat to Camp Glisson since I arrived. As we celebrate this growth, we must also care for our historic facilities and meet rising operating costs.
As we look toward 2027, I invite you to prayerfully consider making a financial pledge to Haygood’s operating budget. A pledge is not a contract, but an expression of your intention to give. It helps our church plan responsibly and continue the ministries that serve our congregation and community.
Thank you for being part of Haygood’s ongoing story of faith, generosity, and love. Together, we can honor our legacy while embracing all that God has in store for our future.

Advent Study- The Angels of Christmas
Mondays Starting November 30, 2026
The Angels of Christmas: Hearing God’s Voice in Advent, a four-week Advent study by Susan Robb, explores the four angelic visits surrounding the birth of Jesus with Zechariah, Mary, Joseph, and the shepherds.
In this study, the reader will explore the visits and dive deep into the history of the angel Gabriel–and other angels–in the Old Testament.
The Angels of Christmas uses these four angelic appearances to discuss God’s presence in history and our lives today. The messages of the angels hold meaning for listeners both then and now.

Live Nativity Organizing Committee
As most of you know, every year the Live Nativity is a fun community event hosted by our Haygood Youth.
What you might not know is how much work it takes behind the scenes to set up, organize, and clean up from this event. Because it's so much work, we can't do it alone!
This year, we would like to build a team of people to help with the logistics and "heavy lifting" aspects of the Live Nativity. If you have ever served with the set up and logistics of the Live Nativity in some way or would like to, please click this link to sign up!
In the next couple of weeks, you'll receive some communications about work days and planning days to make sure everything is as great as it can be.

We are sponsoring this very worthy cause to provide Christmas stockings for young adults in Georgia who have aged out of the foster care system. We will then be stuffing these stockings as a family service project on the morning of November 15 from 10:15-10:45 in the gym (after the children's choirs have finished their morning rehearsals). Parents and children are invited to join us as we prep the stockings!
If you'd like to contribute to the stocking drive, you can purchase any of the listed items and drop them off in the designated red bins in the gym lobby between now and November 13. You can also go straight to our Amazon wish list and purchase and have items shipped straight to the church using this link:

| | To "witness" is to live and share our Christian faith publicly. As members of Haygood, we pledge to participate in its ministries through prayer, presence, gifts, service, and witness. | | |
