School-Wide Fall Testing: Friday, October 16

Next Friday, October 16, is a school-wide testing day. Testing is mandatory for every student. All students must be at school and ready to test:

• Seniors: SAT
• Juniors: PSAT/NMSQT
• Sophomores: MAP
• Freshmen: PSAT 8/9

These tests won’t affect GPA or class rank, but they still matter. Colleges and scholarship programs use these scores, and our teachers use them to plan instruction. We’re asking every student to give their best effort.

What to bring

• A fully charged device and its charger (all tests are digital)
• A pencil and calculator (optional; most calculators are allowed)

Students who arrive without a charged device won’t be able to test. They will also need to reimburse the school for the cost of the unused test.

Arrival: Please arrive by 8:00 AM, rested and ready. We’ll provide breakfast and lunch.

Dismissal: Students will be dismissed after lunch, between 1:00 and 1:30 PM. Please plan to pick up your student by 1:45 PM. Students without a ride will wait in the gym until their ride arrives or until shuttle buses leave at the usual time, 4:30 PM.

Join us next Saturday, October 17, as we host the Alabama Coalition for Immigrant Justice (ACIJ) 15th Anniversary Celebration here on our campus! There will be food, music, dancing, resources, speeches, and fun for all ages. This is an event open to the community: however, registration is requested in order to ensure we have enough food for everyone!

Need help understanding your health insurance options? Join us at Cristo Rey Birmingham on Tuesday, October 13, from 12–1 PM for a Road to Open Enrollment Healthcare Workshop in partnership with Enroll Alabama.

Families can learn about health insurance options through the ACA Marketplace, compare Bronze, Silver, and Gold plans, explore eligibility for financial assistance, and get help preparing an application.

Your student can earn 15 Builder Points when you attend! That’s 5 times the usual Builder Points incentive for families attending a school event, so don’t miss this opportunity!
