| Asian American Pacific Islander Heritage Month | |
As we celebrate Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) Heritage Month, we take pride in recognizing the remarkable contributions of the AAPI community, both within our firm and throughout the communities we serve. This month offers an opportunity to reflect on the richness of AAPI cultures, the resilience of their histories, and the impact of their continued contributions to the legal profession and beyond.
This month, we are especially honored to share the personal reflections of several AAPI attorneys and staff members: Christine Pham, Elaine Le, Wenjia Ma, Angie Prudencio, Thea (Tanya) Decendario-Torres, and Vivian Tran. Their stories of resilience, identity, and purpose illuminate the powerful role representation plays in the legal field and beyond. Diversity is not just something we acknowledge during AAPI Heritage Month. It is something we live, champion, and build upon every day.

Firm members enjoyed another unforgettable evening at California Theatre, taking the ultimate trip through the solar system and experienced the Symphony like never before. The breathtaking multimedia event featured Gustav Holst’s epic celestial masterpiece, accompanied by awe-inspiring NASA images and footage projected onto a giant screen on stage. The space odyssey began with Jessie Montgomery’s Starburst, followed by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s final symphony, nicknamed “Jupiter,” long regarded by critics as one of the greatest symphonies in classical music.
Supporting Symphony San Jose is more than just celebrating world-class performances — it’s an investment in cultural enrichment, arts education, and the vibrancy of our local community. Organizations like Symphony San Jose keep the arts alive and accessible for future generations to experience, learn from, and be inspired by.

On May 19, 2025, Hoover Krepelka, LLP had the privilege of sponsoring the Santa Clara County Estate Planning Council’s May dinner meeting, bringing together leading professionals for a high-level discussion on Advanced Estate Planning Strategies.
The evening featured a distinguished national panel: Adam Altman, CRPC® (Morgan Stanley), Derek Dickinson, JD (Jackson National Life Distributors LLC), and Brian Henricks (Winged Keel Group). Together, they tackled widespread myths about annuities and offered practical insights on their use in complex estate planning, including bypass, irrevocable, and special needs trusts. Attendees also explored the powerful role of Private Placement Life Insurance (PPLI) and flow-through tax strategies to preserve multigenerational wealth.
Congratulations to Director of Community Relations, Michelle Hoover for her recent recent appointment to the Board of Directors for the Santa Clara County Estate Planning Council.
| Steve and Christine Perry's Team's Visit | |

This month, the spotlight is on the San José Public Library Foundation, a nonprofit committed to expanding educational access and lifelong learning for the entire San José community. The Foundation supports programs like early childhood literacy, after-school homework clubs, tech access for underserved groups, adult education, and innovative learning initiatives. By partnering with local groups and volunteers, it bridges equity gaps and empowers personal and professional growth.
