National Bike to Work Day

The City of Dover invites residents to leave their cars at home and commute on two wheels for National Bike to Work Day on Friday, May 16. The event will take place from 7-9 a.m. at the Dover Community Trailhead located at the Dover Transportation Center.

Hosted by the City of Dover's Community Trail Advisory Committee and Seacoast Area Bicycle Riders, this celebration encourages sustainable transportation while fostering community connections. Participants will enjoy complimentary coffee and light breakfast treats just for cycling in.

The event aims to highlight Dover's growing network of bike-friendly infrastructure, including the Dover Community Trail, while connecting cyclists from across the community.

COAST Community Survey Now Open

In order to serve the community better, COAST is surveying customers and other Seacoast residents. COAST typically surveys riders on board every two years, but this year the survey is available online to reach a broader audience- including those who don’t currently ride. The first question will ask whether you’ve used COAST in the past year and, if not, you’ll be directed to a shorter set of questions designed just for non-riders.

If you live, work, or spend time in COAST’s service area, we encourage you to take the survey by May 17. Your feedback, whether you ride COAST or not, will help shape future improvements.

Complete the survey by clicking here.

Registration open for the Dover Community Trail ChalkFest on June 8

Join the fun at the Dover Community Trail ChalkFest on Sunday, June 8, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., hosted by the Dover Community Trail Advisory Committee and Dover Arts Commission.

Participants of all ages can create chalk art along the trail between the Fisher Street Trailhead and Central Avenue. Each artist gets a five-foot-by-five-foot square, with chalk provided or feel free to bring your favorite colors. A $5 suggested donation supports the event and Community Trail fund. Prizes will be awarded in different age categories, and snacks and water will be provided.

Whether you’re a seasoned artist, a doodler, or just looking for a great time outdoors, come make your mark!

Registration is encouraged via Google Forms, and we can't wait to see what you'll create.

Additional details will be sent to registrants before the event date, and questions about the event can be shared via the Google Form above or directed to City Planner Erin Bassegio at E.Bassegio@dover.nh.gov.
