I’ve always loved living near the water, especially in the summer, and I thrive on the humid, salt-scented breezes. As someone who paints, I’m especially drawn to the way the colors of the water and sky constantly change—creating an infinite range of blues that shift and evolve with the weather and the position of the sun.

The color blue has long been associated with calmness and clarity, as well as mystery, depth, and longing. It’s a color rich in emotion. Henri Matisse once said, “A certain blue penetrates your soul.”
