"On March 27th the housing industry lost a pioneering leader with the death of Ralph Drees", said Chuck Shinn, Builder Partnerships, President. "I first met Ralph in the late 1960’s. He was a young builder from northern Kentucky who would have a major impact on the housing industry as he grew the company to national prominence while maintaining his roots as an influential leader in his local community. Ralph had a thirst for knowledge on how to effectively manage and grow a homebuilding company not only for himself but for all of his key staff. During his years of leadership, The Drees Company was honored as America’s Best Builder and National Builder of the Year. In 2014, I presented Ralph with the “Lee Evans Pinnacle of Management Excellence – Lifetime Achievement” award for his outstanding homebuilding career. This award is not an annual application award. The selection is determined by our board of management consultants honoring a retired builder for his career of leadership and management excellence in growing a sustainable organization. Ralph was the third recipient of this award."
