THE EVENT:
The Make It Market brings together local makers, artists, and small businesses for an afternoon of shopping, making, and connecting. The Holiday Gifts Edition will focus on distinctive, handmade and thoughtfully designed goods, giving guests an opportunity to shop local and find unique gifts for the holiday season.
PARTICIPATION (TWO OPTIONS):
OPTION ONE:
VENDOR EXPERIENCE:
KQED will provide one 8' table and two chairs for each participating vendor. Vendors are asked to bring a table covering, signage, and any additional props or decor needed to create a vibe that best showcases your products.
Vendor Fee: $150
OPTION TWO:
CRAFT EXPERIENCE:
We’re inviting a select group of makers to offer a hands-on craft experience that guests can purchase and make onsite. Crafts may range from approximately $40, depending on the 10–$ complexity, materials, and direct costs involved.
KQED will guarantee $150 to each participating maker. While admission to the market is free, advance ticket holders will receive a $10 voucher toward a craft. KQED will reimburse each crafter $10 after 15 vouchers or the $150 the guarantee. Crafters are responsible for setting the price of their craft, collecting payment, and managing all sales.
Those offering a craft are also welcome to bring finished products to display and sell alongside the craft experience.
KQED will provide two tables: one for your presentation and sales, and one dedicated to the crafting activity, along with four chairs. Additional chairs can be made available depending on your needs. Crafters are asked to bring table coverings, signage, décor, and any additional materials needed to create a space that represents your brand and vibe.
OUTREACH:
The Make It Market will be promoted across KQED’s email, radio, digital, and social channels leading up to the event. KQED reaches more than 3 million weekly listeners, viewers, and online visitors, with an email audience of approximately 440,000 subscribers.
Participating vendors and makers will have an opportunity to introduce their work to a broad, engaged Bay Area audience and connect with new customers at the beautiful, brand-new Blanco Modern Venue in Livermore. It will be a great opportunity to invite the community to shop local, discover new makers, and find unique gifts for the holiday season.
If you’d like to participate, please complete the application linked below. Once your application is received, KQED will follow up with next steps, including payment, marketing, and event logistics.
