MAYOR'S UPDATE
From the desk of Mayor Rika Levin
What's New This Week
Welcome to February and a winter wonderland. As I look out my window, I am amazed by the winter beauty surrounding us. I am grateful for our Village staff, who has once again kept the roads safe and clear. I am also thankful that the Village Offices were open and accepting tax payments as a convenience and service to our residents. Our first responders have been working at full speed to make sure our residents are safe. The Joseph G. Caputo Community Center has been made available as a warming station for those in need. We continue to encourage everyone to stay indoors and to please reach out to your friends and neighbors who might need help during this storm in the middle of an isolating pandemic. Please reach out to me at mayor@villageofossining if I can be of assistance.
With February, we welcome Black History Month. Here in Ossining, there will be several opportunities to celebrate. Our Village Historian, Joyce Sharrock Cole will be participating in several of those events throughout the community. Here is a sample of just three events. There are more on our site and will be listed in upcoming Web Blasts:
What’s in front of the Board
We continue with our public engagement series regarding the Ossining DPW Site Redevelopment. Please join us tonight via Zoom at 7 pm for an important session entitled "Show Me the Money." We are also continuing public engagement regarding the Police Reform and Reinvention Collaboration. The Board has been presented with the draft proposal produced by the Working Committee. We are holding three more public feedback meetings. This is an opportunity for the public to share their thoughts. The first in this series is February 6, at 10 am via zoom.
