Owners, 17Oct26

I recently asked whether I should run for office in March of 2027. In total, 50 owners responded in writing, 10 sent text messages, and 4 called me directly. Below is a sample of the feedback and heartfelt opinions expressed by like-minded owners:

I feel the need to express my opinion that I feel Mr. Polo has done an outstanding job as well as the board, for the community of Gulfwinds East. I believe we should all be grateful for the effort and commitment that they have put forth in not only saving our community money, but keeping us as owners informed with transparency and honesty. I believe the commitment and dedication they have displayed, in these often thankless positions, is to be commended. Thank you., Lisa Tiplady

Robert, you are the most thorough, consistent, and hold yourself accountable for your actions with results. Keep doing a great job sir, don't let outside noise deter you from completing the mission! Maurice Carter

Message:*: I received a number of photos of supposedly poor conditions at GWE.

My first point goes back to my grandmother saying “ don’t air your dirty laundry in public” If an owner has a problem, meet with the board to discuss and resolve. If you post images like this on line for the whole world to see, you’re only hurting our property values, our rental business and our general reputation in the community. The items in the pictures looked like maintenance issues which fell on our Maintenance manager and our management company. Why is our management company not maintaining our property and what are we paying them for?????The board positions are voluntary unpaid and a general pain in the neck. Harassing board members to the point of selling is not the way to conduct business.

Asking for volunteers to do work on the property is a good way to trigger a liability lawsuit and other issues. This is what we have a management company for — property maintenance.

Respect for our board is critical in a community like ours. You won’t get everything you personally want but that’s what you signed on for when you bought your property.

If you think you can do a better job than the president or other board members “run for a board position “ but respect the work that the board does.

TO THE BOARD:

Thank you for all of your correspondence and updates throughout the year. The leadership of our HOA (specifically Robert) is greatly appreciated. You guys have been fair and mindful of the owners & residents in your decision-making.

I am grateful for each of your individual services this past year as our voice to the outside world (vendors, CAM, Seacrest, etc...).

ROBERT - I specifically appreciate what you have done this past year. You have brought stability and decorum to our HOA. THANK YOU!!!

I sincerely hope that you reconsider and agree to stay on the Board. Losing you would be a huge loss.

Thank you again to all Board Members. I hope you all remain to maintain the stability that has been developed by the Board., Stephen Moore

Just a message to say Rob and team are doing an awesome job. Beyond, more than what they probably should be doing, from budgeting to maintenance.

Thank you so much 🙏 🤗 I truly appreciate it., Nancy Whittle

I am writing to strongly request Robert continue as GWE board president. I have lived here for about 7 years. The immense improvements in this community is due to Robert’s dedication to this community. He has secured a qualified property manager. In addition, Robert has secured a kind, hardworking maintenance person. Shannon Strohmayr

I feel Robert has done an amazing job & I'd like to see him stay on the board. Terri Nagle

Please Mr. Polo, reconsider leaving the Board! You have done an outstanding job as President and it would be such a shame to see things move in the wrong direction. Maryellen Mills

I’ve heard that the last meeting was horrid.  I’m so sorry that some people don’t realize what an amazing leader you are.  I own 5 condos in Naples and Marco, The Gulfwinds HOA is by far the best run and least expensive.  Please please do not resign, I ask that you run again and continue being the great HOA President that you are. I think Robert Polo is doing a great job as GWE board President. He is the best President since I moved to GWE back in 2019. He has more accomplishments then any president and has saved us a lot of money and I truly hope he runs for the board again. Justin LaFountain

As a former vice president, interim President and board member I can sympathize with yours and Roberts frustrations. I for one think you both are doing a great job and hope you both continue. I have been criticized and threatened by some but that goes with the job. Most of it comes from people who won't get involved and just sit there on their dead asses and mail shoot their mouths.

Phil Smith

These owners represent the majority opinion of GWE, and they share a unified message which is, please stay on as President.

Thank you again for all your kind words.

And yes, I will be glad to stay on as your Gulf Winds East President

Respectfully

Robert Polo
