The mission of KLRN is to open a world of lifelong learning through trustworthy and enriching programs on-air, online and in our community.
Dear Educators,

Happy New Year! Let us celebrate hope and new beginnings. There is so much we can achieve when we work together. In this newsletter, we are focusing on the hope and promise of new beginnings, and the amazing things we can do when we work as a team. Our KLRN Education Team reviewed the post survey responses from the educator training sessions, and the most requested topics to be addressed in training sessions include social emotional learning, mental health and well-being, diversity and cultural awareness, and strategies for staying healthy and reducing the effects of stress. We also received requests for training sessions geared toward all K-12 ages, with a special emphasis on teaching and learning with students with special needs. With that in mind, we are including these very important topics in our sessions. Please see the bottom portion of the newsletter for upcoming sessions. As a reminder, all of our virtual educator training sessions are free and offer CPE continuing education credits. We thank you for all that you have done and continue to do as educators, and we are here for you.

With Appreciation,
KLRN Education Team

WATT WATCHERS HIGHLIGHT
Natural resources are not evenly distributed across the United States or even across the State of Texas. Looking at the horizon you can see if you are near the sea or surrounded by timber, but other resources crucial to our daily lives are less obvious. Each of the activities on this page references a different resource and provides resources your class can use to identify different sources of freshwater, fossil fuels, and renewable resources.
