Housekeeping Announcements from Oak Ridge Elementary
Thank you for your cooperation!
|
|
 |
The ORE Front Office staff would like to remind you that the sign-in procedure (as a volunteer, for lunch, for a meeting, etc.) for SY 2018-19 has changed.
If you are signing-in to school for the first time, you must bring in your driver's license to be scanned. This is a one time requirement. All subsequent visits will only require your date of birth.

A friendly reminder for Car Rider Line afternoon pick-up:
Please make sure that your student's name is written on a piece of paper and is visible from the dashboard of your car. Cars without names displayed significantly slow down the line. You can pick up a strip of poster board from the Front Office for this purpose.

Get ready for the Kids Heart Challenge! A message from Mrs. Anderson
|
Parents, it's time for your kids to show heart! This year, we are launching the Kids Heart Challenge (formerly known as Jump Rope for Heart). It's your child's chance to be a Heart Hero by learning about heart health, spreading the word and raising funds to help other children.
Have your child go to
heart.org/kidsheartchallenge so they can take one of the three challenges and email family and friends to ask for donations.
Your child will earn a glow-in-the-dark wristband just for registering online. When they get donations, they will receive Echo, Finn and a clasp.
Thank you for supporting the physical and emotional well-being of our students and the American Heart Association!

Help keep our Oak Ridge Elementary PTO strong!
|
Looking forward to next school year, we are need some very important volunteers.
We encourage parents of our younger students to consider stepping-up as our current volunteers have children who are getting to move on from Oak Ridge Elementary. Here is another position:
- PTO Newsletter: This position is for a volunteer that enjoys communicating with the ORE community. The newsletter is a weekly product but no online publishing experience required (that's what the software is for). All of the work is done via computer so no set daytime requirements either!
We are still in search for volunteers for Sponsorship and Chess Club Coordinator (attention parents of Chess Club participants!). Please contact us for more information.
These are jobs that are so integral to our PTO. We would love for volunteers to come on board now and shadow those currently doing these jobs. It will make it so much easier next year. Please email
orespto@gmail.com if interested!!!

Congratulations to all our School Spelling Bee participants!

The 2019 ORE School Spelling Bee was held last Wednesday, January 9. All the participants did their best but there could only be one winner. Congratulations to Anjali Pisharody from Ms. Dixon's 4th grade class!

Sponsorship Opportunities
|
All of our sponsors, no matter how big or small, make a difference. Sponsoring our weekly newsletter, gymnasium banners, website and school planners helps us provide the school staff, our students and our families resources that the school's budget does not provide. If you are interested in a sponsorship, please contact us.
