RIBBA is proud to support and empower Rhode Island’s small businesses and the next generation of business owners. This event exemplifies the organizations commitment to fostering entrepreneurial talent, providing a platform for young entrepreneurs to shine and connect with the community. RIBBA also awarded a $250 grant to the remaining four finalists, further encouraging and supporting the growth of emerging entrepreneurs.
To prepare for the event, each participant underwent meticulous training in crafting and delivering a compelling business pitch. The final verdict was entrusted to a panel of esteemed judges, including experienced professionals from Rhode Island’s business community: David Ferreira from Bristol County Savings Bank, Carlos Vargas from Navigant Credit Union, and Cynthia Scott, former board chair of RIBBA. The evaluation criteria focused on the strength and originality of the participants' ideas, the potential immediate impact of their proposed use of funds, and the strategic depth of their business plans.
"RIBBA has been instrumental in my journey — from preparing me for our pitch, to developing my website, and helping me scale my business. They are also guiding me to get ready for the next steps of growth." — Joahluis Molina, Owner of That Junk Removal Company and first place winner.
