The last of the leaves are falling, the air smells like woodsmoke, and it’s officially comfort food season. I hope you checked out the monthly recipe.

November always feels like the calm before the festive rush—a perfect time to slow down, count blessings, and gather with family and friends.

Whether you’re hosting a family feast, traveling for the holiday, or simply taking time to reflect on the year, November is a wonderful reminder to be grateful for all that fills our homes and hearts.

We’ve missed peak color along the Parkway the past few years, but 2025 is the year we made it happen. We enjoyed the gorgeous foliage and then an overnight at Chetola. We just happened to hit on PEAK weekend.

What about you—what are your favorite November traditions? A special dish you always make, a local parade, or maybe just a quiet walk after Thanksgiving dinner? I'd love to hear how you're celebrating this beautiful month of gratitude.

CONNIE'S TWISTED STITCHES

I haven't been able to continue Mom's Yarn projects yet ... the memories are just a little too close.

But, I have continued decorating her beloved tree, which brightened her skilled nursing home room for many years.

Now decorated for Thanksgiving, it reminds us daily of her warmth and love.
