A Message from the Headmaster
Dear Archway Trivium Families,
We are a couple of weeks into the school year and things are starting to settle in. Our pick-up and drop-off systems are in full swing, initial assessments are wrapping up, and clubs will be starting soon. At this point, I would like to point your attention to an absolutely essential element of our operations, our funding. In the coming weeks, Mr. Martin will be starting off our annual Community Investment campaign. The intent of this campaign is to close the gap between what the state provides in funding our academy and the operational expenses of the academy. For those who do not know, as a charter school, we receive far less funding per student than our counterparts in district schools. In our case, the total difference is roughly $1.6 million. This is an insurmountable gap for our community, which is why we ask each family to contribute what it can.
Most of our families cannot afford the full state funding difference of approximately $1,800 per pupil. The important thing is not the amount but rather the willingness to contribute. Over the past few years we have had about 27% of our families participate in community investment. We can do better than that. Trivium has always been a tight-knit community where we look out for each other. We are much bigger than we once were, but we can still be united. It is the nature of humanity that we feel more connected to groups and organizations to which we are contributors. At Trivium, we talk about contributing our time, treasure, and talents. This year I would like to extend this challenge to all our families to contribute in each of these three ways. I promise that, to the degree to which we do this, our community will become more unified and strong. Thank you for all you do and all you are. This weekend, please look at your budgets and make a determination on the amount you can contribute.
Heartily devoted,
Clay Scott, Ed.D.
Headmaster

Traffic Flow Updates
We appreciate your patience and kindness during student drop off and pick up, as we know it is an adjustment at the start of the school year.
Here are a few reminders that will help our traffic flow run smoothly:
- You must have your PHYSICAL ORANGE or GREEN pick-up card clearly visible during pick-up. We do not accept a photo of your card on a phone. If you forget your pickup card, you must go to the front office.
- Please keep pulling forward to eliminate gaps in the traffic flow. This helps relieve traffic back-ups on Encanto Blvd.
- Parents in the drop-off/pick-up zone must remain in their vehicle.
- Follow the directions of staff on duty.
- Parents picking up both Archway and Prep students use the Archway driveline. Prep students do not use pickup cards and should be ready and watching along the sidewalk north of the gym to get into your car. Remind your Prep students to arrive promptly to the pickup area after school. If they are not present when you reach the sidewalk, you will be asked to loop around and re-enter the driveline to keep traffic moving. As Prep dismisses after Archway, do not arrive to the driveline before your Prep student's pickup time.
-
Archway students may not be dropped off/picked up in the Trivium Prep (6th-12 grade) traffic flow. Please use the Archway traffic flow to drop-off and pickup your Archway & Prep students.

School Messenger Communication
Great Hearts and Archway Trivium continue to utilize the system School Messenger for emails, robo-calls, and text messaging to inform families of campus related academy emergencies and other communications.
