Parking Lot Repaving and OFFSITE Worship on Sunday, July 12
The congregation was so wonderful to support the "Pave the Way" fundraising to repave the parking lot and soon it will be happening. The parking lot will be repaved and unavailable from Monday, July 6 through at least Wednesday, July 15. If you need to stop by the church, the driveway closest to the parsonage will be available for parking. This means that on Sunday, July 12 at 9:30 am we will share worship with St. Matthew's Lutheran Church at 2440 Conestoga Rd, Chester Springs, PA 19425. This will be a great time to connect with our "sister" congregation with whom we collaborate, especially on areas like Youth Ministry, Rise Against Hunger and Vacation Bible School.

Organ/Accompanist or Assistant Music Director Position
Our team is ready to start receiving application materials for this staff position. You'll notice we are advertising in two different ways. We remain committed to our use of the organ in traditional worship and if needed, will be restructuring the Music Director position to ensure continuity in this area. We will ultimately select the new person and role that best align with the lead applicant's specific skills and heart to ensure the best fit for our music ministry. If you are interested or know someone who might be a good candidate, please check out StPaulsLionville.org/careers to learn more.

By joining this team, you’ll provide needed support for the worship team, allowing our audio technicians to focus their expertise on mastering the sound while you handle the visuals. - The Role: Advance slides in OBS and assist with technical needs during worship.
- The Commitment: Serve once every 4–6 weeks. An annual commitment is preferred for continuity.

Musical Notes From Lindsay
June 21: The Burning Bush
Scriptural Reference: Exodus 3:1-15, Moses and the Burning Bush
9:30am Combined Service
Gathering Hymn: Come Thou Fount of Every Blessing
In reviewing the text for this hymn (as I typically do when referencing it to the scripture) I realized I had never thought about the verse which states: "Here I raise my Ebenezer." The only Ebenezer I was familiar with up until this point was that of the Dickensian nature...and this surely could not be the same. (If you are familiar with I Samuel, you are already way ahead of where I was.) Here is what I discovered:
Out of fear of an impending attack from the Philistines, the Israelites pled with the prophet Samuel to ask God for forgiveness and protection, which Samuel did through prayer and the sacrificing of a lamb. When the Philistines came upon the Israelites to attack, it is written that the Lord let out a "mighty sound" which startled the Philistines, allowing the Israelites to defeat them. In remembrance of God's response to the prayers for mercy in Israel's hour of need, Samuel marked the event by setting up a stone he called "Ebenezer" as a reminder to God's people of his intervention on their behalf. In Hebrew, "Ebenezer" means "stone of help." This reference in our Gathering Song signifies our unwavering faith in God's salvation, and proclaims the steadfastness of his love for us.
Song of the Day: Soul on Fire
A fitting piece for this season of Pentecost, this selection communicates our desire to pursue God so fervently that we become "a soul on fire." The retelling of Moses' experience with the burning bush conveys the power of God through fire, rather than it's damaging effect. God is powerful, yet merciful...as indicated by Moses' observance that the bush itself is not consumed by the flames. In our Song of the Day, this is the same fire we are called to as Christians.
Sending Song: Lord of Justice
God called Moses as his chosen messenger to deliver the enslaved Israelites from the grips of Pharaoh: "The LORD said, 'I have indeed seen the misery of my people in Egypt. I have heard them crying out because of their slave drivers, and I am concerned about their suffering.'"
Our sending song reminds us that we look to the Lord to help guide us in our path to help those in need.

Home Crafting Projects
Even though the Crafters are not meeting throughout summer, our sewing projects continue at home. If you’d like to help with the easy-to-sew school bags for Lutheran World Relief, let us know. It’s just straight stitch sewing from an easy-to-follow instruction sheet. Or if you’d like to finish off one of our quilts by putting in the final knots, they’re ready to work on too. Questions? Tilly Hujsak (home) 610-363-6898 (cell) 610-764-8800 or Karen Pindle 484-883-5721 (cell). Thank you.
