Dear Members and Industry Advocates,
The Motorcoach Political Action Committee (PAC) wishes you and your family a healthy and safe New Year! With a New Year comes a new legislature.
This past November Pennsylvania went to the polls and elected over 50 new state legislators, which means the dynamics of the House and Senate are about to change drastically. In addition, PennDOT will be receiving a new Secretary of Transportation once one is nominated by Governor Shapiro. With all these changes to Harrisburg, it is now more vital than ever that you contribute to the Motorcoach PAC.
This past session our industry was able to accomplish:
- The defeat of PennDOT’s plan to toll 9 candidate bridges throughout the Commonwealth.
- Legislation was passed to require PennDOT, to provide no less than four renewal periods per year and authorize the Department to prorate registration payments as they create the new expiration dates.
- Snow and Ice legislation was signed into law that will help to protect the public, motorcoach operators, and motorcoach companies.
- Legislation was passed to help modernize the Motor Safety Carrier Advisory Committee to ensure that the committee is ready for any future challenges that may beset our industry.
- Temporary suspended the 2% biodiesel content mandate for diesel fuel from June 27th, 2022, to August 26, 2022.
PBA will continue to advance the industry’s agenda and push for positive change, but your individual financial commitment to Motorcoach PAC is needed today.
