Greetings Connect K8 Families,
We want to thank our Core 5 students, Dahlia, Elizabeth, and their Girl Scout troop for building us our very first butterfly house! When our Monarch Caterpillars are ready to form their chrysalis, they'll have a nice safe place to do so--and our students will have the opportunity to observe the whole process!
|
We hope you enjoy a break full of joy, family, and rest! We will see you the week of the 29th!
With Gratitude,
Tami and Kaitlin

Exhibition!
12/7 and 12/9 4:30-5:15 & 5:30-6:15pm
We shared in a special Exhibition newsletter (sent on 11/12) that we are excited to host in-person Exhibition this semester! Exhibition is one of our signature practices where students have an opportunity to show what they know, by presenting their in-class project work with an audience of families, friends, and community members! Each class's exhibition will feel unique and tailored to their specific project experience. Sometimes students present a product or other deliverable, sometimes guests are given tours by student docents, and sometimes there's a performance or other interactive experience for guests to enjoy. We can't wait to experience this special event with you!
Your teacher should have shared with you your student's presentation time, your timeslot to be on campus, and what to expect during the evening. Please only plan to be on campus for the duration of your timeslot (noted above in red). During your timeslot on campus, you are encouraged to act as an audience for as many students on campus as possible--not just your own child's presentation.
All visitors 2 years of age and older must show proof of vaccination or a negative PCR test within 72 hrs in order to attend Exhibition. Please arrive 15-20 minutes early to your designated time slot in order to be checked in and ready to enter at the beginning of your time slot.
We ask student presenters to dress in "Exhibition attire" to give them an opportunity to feel professional in this environment. Button-up shirts, slacks, ties, knee-length dresses and skirts are all considered Exhibition attire.
If you have exhibition attire that no longer fits your learner and you'd like to donate to our "Exhibition closet", you can drop off clothes to the front office the week of the 29th! If you would like to browse and borrow Exhibition attire from our Exhibition closet, you can visit the front office anytime before your child's Exhibition event!

Please see the below information from WUSD Superintendent, Blake Silvers:
This week, federal government agencies issued an emergency authorization for children ages 5-11 to receive the COVID-19 vaccine. Booster doses of the Moderna, Johnson & Johnson, and Pfizer vaccines will also be available for those ages 12+ at each clinic.
Registration is now open, so please SIGN UP HERE for a slot for your children or your booster dose if interested. Walk-ins are welcome, but we advise registering in advance to ensure you are able to receive a dose.
To deliver vaccinations as quickly as possible, we’re pleased to announce that Fulgent has also added another vaccination clinic option for this Friday. Recipients of the vaccine for this option will receive their first dose on Friday, November 5, then return for their second dose on November 30.
The updated dates for the clinics, including the added clinic, are as follows:

It is not too late to be a Champion!
Ask yourself these questions:
1. Which piece of curriculum do I use most?
2. Which piece of curriculum does my child love?
3. Am I willing to share my knowledge (BIG or small) with others?
Our goal with this program is to have parents collaborate with each other to make the most of the DV Connect Supplemental Curriculum resources. There is great value in what you do for your kid's learning every day and sharing those tips and tricks will help others to find success!
Send Theresa an email if you’d like to talk about how you can contribute to our community in this way
