Following the May 3rd election, Council Members Anne Duffy, Kevin Harris, and Alexis Frezza were sworn into their places at the City Council Meeting on May 22, 2025.

Council Member Anne Duffy, Place Three, was first elected in 2017 and will serve her fifth consecutive term.

Council Member Kevin Harris, Place Five, was first elected in 2021 and will serve his third consecutive term. He was appointed in October 2020 to fill a short-term seat on City Council.

City Offices Closed

All City of Cedar Park offices, including Parks & Recreation and the Library, will be closed on Monday, May 26, 2025, in observance of Memorial Day.

Regular business hours will resume on Tuesday, May 27.

Trash & recycling collection will remain on schedule as usual.

Important Trash & Recycling Service Update – Starting June 16, 2025

A growing number of residents are placing non-City-branded carts at the curb for trash collection.

City-branded carts are designed specifically for the truck mechanism for efficiency, effectiveness, and collection staff safety. The personal carts placed for collection are not of uniform size or shape, are incompatible with the truck’s pick-up system, and are confusing as to if the cart is trash (considered one of the seven extra items residents can place by the curb).

To help keep our neighborhoods clean and safe, Republic Services will only collect trash & recycling from official Cedar Park-branded carts starting June 16, 2025.

Using these carts ensures safe and efficient pickup for our collection crews—and helps prevent issues arising from other container types.

Is your cart overflowing? Add an extra 95-gallon Cedar Park trash cart to your service for just $5.50/month! Plus, you can still place up to seven extra bags or bulk items next to your cart each week for pickup.

Thank you for helping us keep Cedar Park clean, safe, and beautiful!

Artists Wanted

You are invited to become an exciting part of Cedar Park by submitting your work for a year-long period of display in the Cedar Park Community Sculpture Garden! Entries are being accepted now through July 11.

Since its creation in October 2013, the Sculpture Garden has been a treasured cultural asset in the Cedar Park community. Sculptures on display in the garden have previously sold both to private collectors and have been purchased by the City for its permanent collection. Artists are once again invited to submit their works to be considered for display in the garden.

CAMPO Transportation Emission Reduction Plan

The Capital Area Metropolitan Planning Organization (CAMPO) invites the public to participate in the development of the Transportation Emission Reduction Plan. This plan will review the region’s current transportation emissions, develop future emission scenarios, collaboratively develop regional goals and objectives, and ultimately provide an actionable set of strategies that will directly reduce transportation emissions across the region.

CAMPO is hosting an online open house to collect input from community members throughout the region. Your participation will help identify strategies and set priorities in the development of the plan. Online materials, comment opportunity, and a calendar of in-person outreach events are available at campotexas.org/get-involved.

Treasure of the Hills Services and Senior Expo

GenLink is a non-profit, high school student organization with a mission to engage with seniors in a variety of ways. At TOTH, the students come each month to help members with issues they have encountered with their smart phones, tablets, or laptops. These technology sessions are offered free of charge. We attended the last session of the school year to get a look into this incredible partnership.

Save the Date! The 19th Annual Senior EXPO, hosted by Treasure of the Hills Senior Center, in partnership with the City of Cedar Park and Parks & Recreation Department, will be held on Saturday, October 4, 2025 from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Cedar Park Recreation Center. This event is free and open to the public. The Senior Expo is held for active seniors (50+) and their families and caregivers searching for products and services available in the North Travis/Williamson County.

Grass Clippings Maintenance

It's mowing season! When disposing of grass clippings, make sure to keep them out of the street and out of the storm drains. It may seem like a small amount, but yard debris is a significant source of stormwater pollution.
