Some Continued Grooming Challenges

As the Grooming team battles challenging weather and snow conditions, they are also working against our machines. The Big Machines are working well. The BR 350 works hard moving snowguns and pushing the heavy, man made snow. We have Rubber tracks on the 2007 PB 100 allowing it to float on the areas with made snow. Unfortunately, these machines can not work on the trails with less than 6" (~15cm) of snow, which is most of our trail network.

When the big machines can not work, we look to our snowmobile fleet. Despite CONSTANT maintenance and management, our snowmobile team has decided to break down together. Today, Peter took our 2023 Skandic 900 (Matt) to Calgary for a warranty repair. He does this while he waits for parts to repair our 2021 Skandic 900 (Wilma) and Skandic V800 (Cindy Lou).

The machine that does work is our tracked quad (Sonic). This machine is happiest when charged overnight. It is like an electric vehicle, but it runs on fuel. Unfortunately, this one can only pull our rollers.

The team is working HARD to ensure the best quality conditions on all trails with the tools and machines available. I have been impressed with their patience and ingenuity throughout this challenging time. They are working hard to make things happen.

Continue to watch our Grooming Report for updates and thank your groomers when you see them!
