Recap of Yom Hazikaron

Over 1200 people attended our Yom Hazikaron ceremony in memory of fallen soldiers and victims of terror at Ammunition Hill. Speakers included the mothers of Yonatan Rom z"l, Yoseph Guedalia z"l, and Yotam Haim z"l, sharing powerful stories of sacrifice and love. Former U.S. Ambassador Michael Oren opened the program; Aharon, a former lone soldier in the special forces spoke about his experiences fighting in Gaza; and Rabbi Moshe Scheiner, Rabbi of Palm Beach Synagogue, closed the ceremony by bringing words of unity from Florida to Jerusalem.

Lone Soldier and Lone Bnei Sherut Business Spotlight

Meet Yaacov Zimmerman

Yaakov is the proud owner of a boutique wine business, producing high-quality, small-batch wines that reflect his journey, his roots, and his dedication to craft.

Yaakov offers special discounts for current and former Lone Soldiers and Bnot Sherut — a true way of giving back to the community that helped shape his path.

We’re proud to spotlight Yaakov’s business and hope to feature him at future events and fairs hosted by the Michael Levin Base, celebrating the talent and creativity of our lone soldier alumni.

Visiting Lone Soldiers on Army Bases

Our team drove north to an Army base to meet with the new lone soldier recruits. Our French, Russian and English speaking advisors met with the lone soldiers to share how The Michael Levin Base can support them during their service. The lone soldiers, having drafted a week before, were so excited to receive our team as their first visitors.

We spoiled them with iced coffee, pastries, treats as well as laundry bags and other useful items.

Shabbat Meals at The Michael Levin Base

Every week we host Friday night and Shabbat lunch at The Michael Levin Base. Not only providing the Shabbat food and atmosphere but helping to create and build a community for our lone soldiers and lone bnei sherut.

Many reserve duty lone soldiers find themselves home last minute from serving in Gaza and in the north. They know that they are always welcome for Shabbat meals and don't need to worry about shopping and cooking.
