Hello Shafer Team Family!

November marks the beginning of the Holiday season and with that comes all of the fun, festive celebrations marking the end of one year and the kick-off to the next. It is during this time of year that we reflect back on all of the opportunities, adventures, accomplishments, and appreciation that we have for one another and everyone who has been such an integral part of our team’s success as well as our own individual well-being.

We owe a great deal to our incredible clients, friends, and family members. We very much appreciate the referrals that continue to be sent our direction from our friends and our past clients. We also could not accomplish half of what we do if it were not for the support and love that our family members lend to each of us. We know what a toll it can take on everyone with the long and irregular hours that we work. Your patience and understanding are greatly appreciated.

Our team continues to be dedicated to providing the best real estate experience available in Western Colorado. As the Top Selling Team for Coldwell Banker Distinctive Properties for the past four years (2020 – 2023), we have remained committed to going above and beyond to provide exceptional service for all of our clients. As such, we plan to push hard and finish this year strong and to hopefully be named the Top Selling Team for 2024, as well.

We simply could not do it without all of your support and the dedication of the outstanding real estate professionals that we have working together on our team. A sincere THANK-YOU to all!!!

Warm wishes,

-Julie & The Shafer Team

P.S. Coat Drive for Local Veterans

In the spirit of giving, we are once again collecting coats for our annual coat drive to benefit Western Region One Source, assisting local veterans and their families. Last year, thanks to your generosity, we collected 130 coats, and this year we’re aiming for an ambitious 200! Every coat makes a difference, so please consider donating to this worthy cause. We are currently at 75 coats and need to collect many more to reach our goal. If you have a coat or jacket in your closet that you were thinking of possibly

giving away, please consider making a donation to our Coat Drive. You are welcome to drop them off by our office or we will gladly pick up any coat or jacket donations that you have available.

Grand Junction football wins first playoff game since 2013

Coming into play this weekend, Grand Junction High School’s football team had not had very much success in the playoffs. But they put all that to rest today with a huge win against the Longmont Trojans.

The duo of Will Applegate and Mason Anderson connected for two first half touchdowns, Noah Watkins had a huge game, and the Tigers absolutely poured it on the Trojans. Grand Junction was up 36-15 at the half, and things just got uglier for the trojans from there.

The Tigers scored 23 points in a huge third quarter, and ended up taking this one by a final score of 59-29.

It‘s Grand Junction’s first playoff win in 11 years.

They will travel to Parker next week to take on the Ponderosa Mustangs.

Elsewhere in the high school football realm, Central couldn’t handle Rampart, as they drop their first round matchup 40-7. And North Fork, who had a tough draw to begin with matching up with the undefeated Wray Eagles fall 48-14.

Happy November!

I am sad Halloween is over, but there are lots of fun things to do this month as the weather continues to get colder. Let’s turn our attention to November and some of the fun things you can do this month.

First up, if you are looking for some exercise and one of the largest 5K runs in the region, the Grand Junction Turkey Trot is happening on Thanksgiving Day, November 28th. This event is a fundraiser for our local fire department and is great fun for the entire valley! The Little Gobbler Kids Run at 9:00 am; it is a short little run for kids under the age of 9 where everyone gets a prize! The Turkey Trot starts at 9:30 am and welcomes all ages to join. It is about a three-mile loop, and is a wonderful family activity!

November is the month for a number of craft fairs to be held in the area. One of the largest and most impressive is the Annual Holiday Fine Art and Craft Fair at the Grand Junction Art Center, November 22-24.

If you are feeling generous this month, donate to a food bank! There are many in Mesa County including Community Food Bank Of Grand Junction, Food Bank of the Rockies - Western Slope Branch, Grand Valley Catholic Outreach, The Salvation Army, and many more! Feel free to bring in canned goods or just make a money donation. Every little bit helps individuals throughout our community who may be having a difficult time and simply need a little assistance this time of year.

Above all else, I think the most important thing to do this month is to spend time with the people (or creatures) that matter most to you. This is a good month to show everyone how grateful and thankful you are to have them in your lives.

Thanks for reading this month's article! Make sure to come back next month!

CAM’S PET STOP

Hi, my name is Camryn and each month I'm going to bring to you options for animals available for adoption in the Mesa County area. This has become somewhat of a passion of mine and I regularly volunteer at the local shelters. In addition, my family also has two adorable dogs that

we have adopted over the past couple of years.

This month, our featured dog is coming from Happy Little Rescue! Since 2018, this animal shelter has saved over 1,500 animals! Happy Little Rescue is a non-profit animal rescue and sanctuary, committed to providing a positive and enriching environment for homeless and

unwanted pets.

Say hello to Hollow, a 6-year-old basset hound mix. She was found pregnant and gave birth to 9 puppies. Together, they flew from Texas to Colorado to find their furever homes. I went to meet Hollow at the rescue and she loves nothing more than to cuddle and have a good belly rub. She

is a kind and gentle dog who loves people of all ages. To learn more about Hallow you can call 970-424-8224 or visit their website at www.happylittlerescue.com. Even if you don’t have room in your house at this time for a furry friend, feel free to become a donor or volunteer.

Thanks and see you next month with

a new adoptable friend,

Cam
