We embarrassed the City of Los Angeles in our August Newsletter https://conta.cc/3YyM7Ok-

We have more tasks for the City who needs to clean up an epidemic of veneral disease

spreading across the United States.

Left untreated, hundreds of thousands of

Americans are At Risk.

The Figueroa Corridor cries for a mobile health clinic.

The poor lighting on the Figueroa Corridor creates

an inviting environment for crime,

including sex trafficking,

drug trafficking, and gun trafficking.

These conditions create concerns for safety by

medical professionals and clinics desperately

needed to test and treat young girls and women and

prevent the spread of venereal disease to other parts

of the United States.

Consequently, men who frequent prostitutes

on the Figueora Corridor

carry disease throughout the country.

Miley called our case managers late at night.

Her voice was so shaky it was hard to understand what she was saying.

A pimp brought her from Texas to Los Angeles and put her on the Figueroa Corridor to work as a prostitute.

Miley saw one of our billboards there and was ready to ask for help.

Our reputation among the street culture is strong and helps overcome the fear.

Miley was forced into prostitution at the young

age of 10.

Victoria received Miley's call and Victoria's strong and supportive voice assured Miley "No one is going to hurt you anymore."

After hearing Miley's story and knowing this dangerous pimp Victoria wanted back up from the LAPD 77th Division whom she knew she could trust.

Victoria asked Miley for permission to involve the police because of the unusual danger and assured Miley, "I am with you all the way!"

Victoria called a top Vice Cop she trusted and respected his skills.

He immediately responded and swooped up Miley in an undercover car and took her back to the station.

Victoria told Miley:

"If at any time you feel uncomfortable, call me,

I am standing by."

With the kind, caring, committed and dedicated Sgt. Navaro, Miley agreed to testify.

Navaro confirmed the man who pimped Miley was a notorious and dangerous CRIP.

LAPD wanted to send her home through LAX and asked if we could help.

No! Victoria was adamant. This is our job now because Children of the Night is experienced at rescuing children and young women from the CRIPS.

Victoria knew the Crips would be looking for Miley at LAX. We have our methods to move youth safely.

.

We successfully relocated Miley with police protection because our reach with law enforcement is nationwide.

We have given her hygiene, clothing, groceries and a psychologist to help her with her trauma.

Our case managers are working on her resume and registered her with indeed for a job.

She is now enrolled in painting class to help with her trauma and help her start a new life.

Case Managers Corner

Anisha (20) called our hotline requesting assistance in getting her GED.

She had aged out of foster care without a high school diploma, like so many of our other children.

Anisha was trafficked across the United States since she was 15 years old.

Like other minor children she eluded the police.

She grew up in Los Angeles and is currently working as a prostitute on the Figueroa Corridor.

She escaped a pimp and is living with her father.

Her impoverished dad needs Anisha to help with food and rent costs.

She relies on the only skill she has which is working as a prostitute and in the only area where she is familiar - Figueroa Corridor.

Every day her life is in danger should she be identified by a pimp who will force her to give him all of her money.

Her mother does not want Anisha in her life and her father is moving out of Los Angeles in a few months.

Her father has already told her he cannot care for her.

Anisha wants to live in a safe location without being forced to work as a prostitute for food to eat and a place to sleep.

She has not attended school since 10th grade.

Without a high school diploma, her options for other work are limited.

She doesn't believe she will ever pass the math test because she believes she has a learning disability.

But never fear, we have Raja Marhaba (The Jonathan Foundation) - our IEP and learning expert who has never met a child she can't help further his/her education.

Children of the Night case managers are experts at accessing EBT benefits and cash aid which Anisha will need in her stabilization.

Our case managers have already started Anisha's resume.

Case managers are quick to set up Indeed accounts for our youth who need to find work in entry level jobs while studying for a high school equivalency.

Be assured we will find a place for Anisha to live during this process, help with rental assistance, work clothes, hygiene and practice interview.

We are with her all the way!

Testimonials

"Hey Lois,

I just wanted to thank you for creating a safe space for me when I was younger and still running the streets.

Your support meant a lot during that time.

I also want to give a big thanks to Fadwa and Ms. Ventura for everything they did to help me further my education and well-being.

I'm really grateful for all the amazing work Children of the Night continues to do for trafficking survivors.

If there are any chances to give back—whether that’s speaking or mentoring girls about college access in California, relationships after the life, or sharing my journey into entrepreneurship and advocacy—I’d love to be involved.

Also, if COTN has any events or panels where alumni can participate, I'd be happy to be part of that too.

I’m applying for my MBA next month and just became Assistant Director of the Prison Arts Collective, but I’ll always make time to reconnect and support COTN.

Thanks again for everything!"

"Hello Lois how are you doing?

I seen that you were online so I decided to write you.

I just wanted to say a little bit of something and then I will lay myself down sleep how come it seems like so hard that I try to be positive.

The devil always comes attacking me. I’m glad that I am super stronger than I was before, but I just wanted to let you know.

I really appreciate you for doing the things that you did for me when I was young because it really made me who I am today how I think and everything.

I just wanted to let you know that I appreciate you even though I’m not where I wanna be. I’m still fighting for my spot. I want to appreciate you for helping me before I ended up dead or something.

I can’t wait to really explain to my kids one day how you really save my life

Thank you so much Lois, I promise you’re like my other mom ❤️ take care"

Dr. Lois Lee spoke to The Republican Women's Club in Northern Dallas.

Children of the Night is now covering Texas by popular demand.

She met the Sheriff, District Attorney, Mayor, Judges, Prosecutors and other Sex Trafficking Programs who thanked her for leading the way for others to do similar work.

At the end of her presentation she was gifted with a Republican Hat that she wore throughout the remainder of the event.

Dr. Lee stated,

"Texas needs us.

I have never met such a group of people, organizations and politicians more committed to rescuing American children forced to prostitute than the people who make up Texas."

Because of Limited Time she met via Zoom with Dallas Police.

Much work still needs to be done and as long as I am standing, I will continue to rescue more children from prostitution.

I continue to help those who have grown up and still struggle with life's challenges.

And their children are just as important to us because prostitution is generational, and Children of the Night is committed to breaking the cycle of prostitution.
