Two hands holding a plant in its palms

From now on, therefore, we regard no one from a human point of view;[a] even though we once knew Christ from a human point of view,[b] we no longer know him in that way. 17 So if anyone is in Christ, there[c] is a new creation: everything old has passed away; look, new things have come into being![d] 18 All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and has given us the ministry of reconciliation; 19 that is, in Christ God was reconciling the world to himself,[e] not counting their trespasses against them, and entrusting the message of reconciliation to us. 20 So we are ambassadors for Christ, since God is making his appeal through us; we entreat you on behalf of Christ: be reconciled to God.

It's a wonderful coincidence that today's newsletter features plant life in the palms of a human hands. Why? Because today is Earth Day!

How are you making God's gift a more verdant and thriving planet? If you're not, use today to come up with a few simple practices. Small changes can make a big difference, especially when many people are making them.

Updated Clothing Closet Requests

men's cargo shorts

It may not feel like theres no need for winter apparel, but that's just because mother nature hasn't gotten the memo that it's Spring. We promise we'll be done with the 40-degree mornings... eventually. Until then, help us fill the clothing closet with what the community will need when things finally do warm up around here.

  • Underwear - sizes L, XL, XXL (boxers not "tightie whities")
  • Shorts - Large up to XXXL
  • Shoes - sizes 10 through 14
  • Body wipes
  • Old wash cloths and towels
  • No women's clothing

We hope you'll consider making a donation, and thank you to those who already have!

The Gospel

According to Flamy Grant

Flamy Grant in front of a purple and gold background

It's the week of the performance, and we're stoked to see Flamy Grant in the flesh! With a voice shaped by the church and a story shaped by survival, Flamy sings songs that tell the truth, the hard truth, the funny truth, and the liberating truth. Raised in Christian music and now performing in drag, Flamy brings together faith, queerness, grief, joy, and hope in ways that are both disarming and deeply familiar.

Presented by Free Mom Hugs and St. Luke Lutheran Church, The Gospel According to Flamy invites you to come exactly as you are and experience a night rooted in honesty, courage, and joy.
