Dear Residents -

After the winter we just had, it is nice to know that we are only 13 days from the start of spring. But before I get ahead of myself, let’s not forget that March is chock full of other holidays, happenings and awareness days. While I can’t mention them all, my favorites include Irish American Heritage Month, which honors the contributions of Irish Americans, and Women’s History Month, which celebrates the vital role of women in American History. And of course, St. Patrick’s Day is on March 17th (with the parade in Pearl River on March 23, 2025).

There is some exciting news for Orangetown residents, especially those who do not have a pool. The Pearl River Nauraushaun Swim Club is opening to all Orangetown residents. This is a fantastic opportunity to swim (or learn how to swim), meet new friends, and enjoy the sun, all in a beautiful, wooded setting in Pearl River. For details, click HERE.

Lastly, on Sunday the clocks "spring forward" at 2 am, giving us a later sunrise and longer evening light. Fun fact: only two states – Hawaii and part of Arizona – do not observe daylight saving time. Personally, I’d like to join them.

Whatever you decide to do this weekend, enjoy!

Regards,

Teresa M. Kenny

2025 Penguin Plunge

Supervisor Kenny and other elected officials were happy to see so many – despite the frigid temperature (both in and out of the water) – out to celebrate Brielle, Zach and Luke. Thanks to the Piermont Fire Department Dive Team for remaining in the water to keep the plungers safe. And as always, thanks to Barbara Noyes, Mike Lynch and the entire Penguin Plunge crew for doing another outstanding job.
