1.)   Fulcrum Foundation Early Childhood Education Fund Grant Application closes March 2nd
On Wednesday, February 2nd the Fulcrum Foundation released the second annual Early Childhood Education Fund Grant Application. Founded in 2002, the Fulcrum Foundation leverages financial assistance to support and strengthen Catholic schools in the Archdiocese of Seattle primarily through tuition assistance, school partnerships, and transformational leader training. Dick and Sharon Abrams established the Fulcrum Early Childhood Education Fund to increase awareness of Fulcrum and encourage broader support for Early Learning and their growing endowment. You should have an individual email from me with all the details to apply for the grant that can result in an award of up to $2,000 to support your program. The grant application will be open for one month closing on Wednesday, March 2nd. Please reach out to me with any questions!

2.)   Fulcrum Foundation Announces 6.5 Million Early Childhood Education Endowment
The Fulcrum Early Childhood Education Fund referenced above has undergone two significant and positive changes. The first is that the fund has moved from being housed in the Seattle Foundation to the Fulcrum Foundation. The second is the Fund received a significant gift and has grown from a 1.5 million dollar endowment to a 6.5 million endowment. This means that in future years the grant sizes we will be able to disburse will grow each year in order to support Tuition Assistance, fund professional development and education certificates and degrees, support curriculum, screening and assessments and support facility expansion. This is an exciting time for our programs and this fund and it’s growth is a reflection of the amazing work that is happening in our schools each day!

3.)   March Early Learning Roundtable – Math Programming: Thursday, March 17th at 4:00pm
During the Early Learning Professional Development Day I was able to listen to the two sessions that focused on Math. Our Early Learning Roundtable time will be spent either talking about your main takeaways from those sessions that you are implementing in your classroom or if you did not attend the sessions how you bring Math into your classrooms. The hope for these roundtables is for you to share what you do at your program and then get great ideas from what others are doing. Please join us at the Zoom link below:

4.)   March Licensed Program Webinar Virtual and In-Person Monitoring Visits: Thursday, March 10th at 4:15pm
We will spend our 30 minutes talking about virtual and in-person monitoring visits from DCYF. What can you expect, how you should prepare and how do you interpret the report you receive following the meeting. Please join us at the Zoom link below:
