We will be partying all day, raising much-needed funds for our community and its pets...

Funds from this event will allow us to continue to meet the overwhelming medical needs of the neediest people and animals in this region and to continue our transport program. These are our two most important programs in saving lives and families in Louisiana! Last year alone we saw over 5700 animals without "checkbooks", and drove over 60,000 miles to trusted adoption partners across the United States to get abandoned and unwanted pets to new homes states!!! WE CANNOT DO THIS WITHOUT YOU!!!

While we serve the neediest in over 18 parishes throughout Louisiana, it is worth noting that in the parish we most directly serve, St Tammany, Big Sky CARES Veterinary Clinic and Hospital continues to be instrumental in shelter diversion, with more than 2200 St. Tammany animals treated that remained with their owners, and 439 direct intakes for medical reasons, allowing this parish to boast a 97% save rate and NO-KILL STATUS!!

Big Sky/CATNIP Foundation is so dedicated to addressing the lack of affordable, accessible veterinary care in rural, underserved Louisiana communities that in 2019 we expanded our community clinic. Today, in addition to our 10-acre ranch and sanctuary, we operate a 5,700 sq. ft. facility that houses a new Spay/Neuter and Affordable Care Community Clinic and Hospital, Calico Cat Cafe & Adoption Center, dog kennels and play yards, safe housing for pets of domestic violence, and a pet food and supply bank. We also operate a mobile spay/neuter service and transport program enabling adoptable animals to get to their new families in 18 states across the US.

Our mission is “changing the ways we think and feel about living with and caring for animals.” Our vision is to create a no-kill, no-shelter community, by increasing community consciousness for the well-being of people, animals, and the planet. We work without agenda, seeking to improve the lives of animals and people through education, cooperation and collaboration.
